Spring Break Interlude

We cancelled our travel plans for Spring Break this year so that we could continue work on Ryan and his friends' film sequel. 10 days of hard work, vintage hats and costume, and great fun for all.

On location and warm enough for short-sleeves Good Friday morning. '20s-'30s Heather Dobbs.

Maureen, Ryan's Assistant Director and Leading Lady, giving an impromptu tour of the manor prior to the start of filming.

Thomas, as the evil genius, in one of my '40s lounging robes.

Jillian's first appearance.

Thomas sporting '40s Hart, Schaffner & Marx and Royal Stetson.

D.J., in a '30s-'40s Foreman & Clark suit.

Eric looking very dapper, sans chapeau.

Reviewing the script with the boys on a rainy Holy Saturday morning. Ryan, in a '30s bespoke suit and modified OPTIMO 'Cagney' in Porcelain. Kurtis and Luke, in their first appearance in the film. Early '40s C&K Knapp Felt Quality De Luxe 'Sutter Club', and Borsalino 'Qualita Superiore'.

Kurtis at the bar. '39-'49 union-labelled Murray Of California DB jacket with Knapp-Felt 'Sutter Club'.

Logan makes a very convincing, poker-faced bartender.

Maureen, helping Jackie with her hat.

Jackie, Femme-Fatale Extraordinaire.

Borsalino 'Qualita Superiore' worn with panache by Luke.

Action shot taken by Maureen while I operated the film-camera.

We filmed at the bar until the restaurant opened for business, then enjoyed a well-deserved lunch 'on the set'. Location scouting a 19th Century home on the National Register Of Historic Places in the afternoon.

On the magnificent veranda. In my favorite vintage lid once again.

In my Easter Sunday best. 1947 Oviatt's Tweed and '40s Stetson Royal DeLuxe 'St. Regis' Homburg.

Sourcing additional props and costume accessories. '30s Dobbs, in suede-finish, with 'Improved Cavanagh Edge'.

Getting ready to film the dungeon scene. Albert, packing heat and sporting my '40s Warner & Warner Beaver Twenty.

OPTIMO, Undyed Beaver Belly.

Jacob's first appearance in the film as well, wearing a '40s Desmonds Southern California DB jacket and '40s Stetson Bluegrass Whippet before the shoot.

Thomas, looking rather diabolical in the Royal Stetson Homburg...

...interrogating Maureen.

Leave it to a teenager to wear an iconic '40s fedora brim up and make it look effortlessly cool.

Jillian joins Thomas for the interrogation.
