We planted this Japanese maple in front of our house the year we purchased it (1986). The foliage is red when the sun is high, green as the sun drifts behind the house and then crimson for a few days right before they fall. The drop happens en masse over 24 hours. Today was that day.

The tree has served as a nice background for fall WHAYWT photos... it will be on to a new location tomorrow.

We've been loosing leaves since July. No real color down here just shades of brown. Nice to see some GREEN grass!! I like your hat BTW :)

RBH, Alan, Rodkins - thanks guys. I always enjoy wearing the Playboy, the proportions are just right! Your's is looking good, Alan!

SBG - I like the Adam, both the style and the colour.

Monbla - super CD.

Rodkins - cool Borsalino today.

Maser - the felt on your JHS does look super soft.

Jeff - nice Knox and you certainly look to be enjoying yourself wearing it!

This JHS is actually is on the stiff side but soft to the touch. I think it has Nutria because the felt is very dense and appears designed to not have side dents. I haven't seen anything similar on the FL.

Alan, if I saw someone wearing that hat and jacket, it would instantly command respect. Now you are ready to go do great things.

Five dollar week continues... I'm mad about the Gadabout (Disney, early 1940s).

ps... thank you for the postings and comments on this thread. I really enjoy seeing the photos and replies. For me, the exercise of taking a daily picture has been a fun diversion that gets me thinking a little about what to wear, something to which for many years I didn't pay much mind.
