Lord's hat? A Bolognese beauty!

Hi Al, this is a rescue hat from the costume shop... not sure if it originally had a bound brim or not. I removed the poorly sewn binding I found on it. On some future trip to Chicago I think I will bring it by Optimo and ask Graham to have a look. It has particularly wonderful felt. Thanks for the note!

Finally...some "cold" weather.

Los Angeles has a bit of a winter storm -- finally! -- so I came to work today with my "little" hat, the "HUGE" Kitten Finish Resistol I got from Erik (Lefty) recently.

At first, I chose a center dent without side dents.... now, it's looking more like a teardrop. Still a bit tight, but it has real character when I cock it to one side and do the "Hollywood flip" thing. But, for now, a basic look as I stand in my front yard.

Thanks, delectans. Made a nice find today...a nice serigraph by Canadian print artist Bonnie Sheckter. In a massive coincidence, it was originally sold by a gallery where my wife used to work! Love the thrift stores.

Al-- what great shots for a wonderful weekend! I was wondering when we'd get to see that dark blue Dobbs again. One of my favorites on your head. Midori with the Sibelius must have been amazing! I had the pleasure four years ago or so of backing her up on the Tchaikovsky Concerto. It was truly inspiring to get to work with her and speak with her, however briefly.

And that Parker Quartet-- one of the greatest quartets I've had the pleasure of hearing live. I heard them play the extremely difficult Ravel string quartet-- bow arms were some of the most relaxed I've ever seen, yet produced some of the most vibrant and resonant, hall-filling sounds!

You just can't go wrong with those artists, especially while donning so much Dobbs!

Just enjoying the last days of the fall palette in my new Flying Cloud Amish wool hat.

That huge maple on the right has since fallen, and gave me a chance to flaunt my mad raking skills (this is a joke. Anything beyond mowing the lawn is beyond my general capacity...).

Raking in my new Bailey Panama derby, and totally psyched about it ;)

DNO: Sounds like a rewarding day. That Sheckter print was meant to be yours.

Jeff: Thanks, my friend. Midori's Sibelius brought me to tears...literally. Playing the Tchaikovsky with her must have been an unforgettable experience! The Parkers are astonishing, with a refinement and poise way beyond their years. Glad you have been able to hear them live.

Great pictures of both lids. Not many more opportunities to wear that cool Bailey Panama. Love your coat, too! Snow coming our way tonight...:smow:

Great photos Jeff, and excellent raking job. Looks like you have quite the leaf dropper growing in your backyard.

Bob, that Resistol looks great on you.
