Today I passed thru downtown Perry, Iowa, where leading citizen George Soumas is memorialized in a public art garden. George's jaunty air and black muffler seemed to call out for my Resistol OR clone, so I snapped a pic of him wearing it.

Thanks, mayser, rodkins, and randooch. Yep that's a traffic jam face, all right.

Here's a more genuine one, taken by my wife before I knew she was taking it:

Now that's a genuine traffic-jam face!

Scotty, you live up to your name with that fedora - you ROCK!

Fletch: I think the hat looks better on you. It is too small for him. :)

Lefty: Your wife always has panache. Even her simple hats/chapeaus look great. Nice pic of the fungus amungus.

And finally AL: my buddy, I know I am not supposed to covet thy neighbor, but that hat almost brings a tear to my eye. Smooth as linen and pristine condition. How can you NOT look good wearing such a fine straw.
The Faux-suede fedoras at the Port Of Entry is a great hat. Thanks for sharing that. Did you see a price tag on it?
The leather bag and hat picture was a good match. Maybe someday, if you were so inclined, you might consider the same the same shot with a different background (think rainforest, etc.). That would be a picture suitable for framing.
Thanks for sharing all these great photographs. Great thread.

A DOBBS Weekend

Friday evening, outside Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis. Dobbs Twenty.

In the lobby prior to the concert.

Discussing her incredibly beautiful and deeply emotional performance of my favorite work, the Sibelius Violin Concerto, with Midori, Goddess Of The Violin.

Reflecting on an extraordinary concert by Midori and the Minnesota Orchestra.

Saturday morning, early lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. Dobbs Americana Lord's Hat.

Impromptu stop at the magnificent Basilica Of St. Mary in Minneapolis because Ryan saw something as we drove by...

...Red-Tailed Hawk on top of Father Louis Hennepin.

Please pardon the inclusion of this photo...I could not resist.

Breakfast at Cecil's Deli in St. Paul, Sunday morning. '20s-early '30s Dobbs, one of my most cherished lids.

Rescuing another great hat block from an antique mall.

Al, incredible pictures as always! That Midnight Blue Dobbs is by far the nicest shade of blue I have ever seen on a fedora. That crown height and shape is also just fantastic. As far as 30's hats go, that 30s Dobbs is incredible. I wish I could find one in my size. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

I can't say it enough, Al, your photos are amazing. The flying hawk shot is incredible! And your blue Dobbs, too. What size is the block, my friend? ;)
