Can you describe the felt on that one, compared to some of your other lids?

Cheers,
JtL

The felt has a very fine velour finish - almost the texture of suede. It compares favorably with the other-than-standard finishes on my vintage hats.

I'm about to get my coat and head out for a range instruction class. I'll wear my newly refurbed Champ from Optimo out there.

Ernest, I have to say you wear your hats with panache.
Very well done, I cant wait till you start wearing a wider brim.
And you will..... and it will look super!
Thank you sir! I am looking at getting a Jaxon pinch crown with a 2 1/2 inch brim from Village Hat Shop. That would be the widest brim I would own.

You guys busted out the big guns today! If your heads know the difference I'm sure they're all smiling...

HPG - Great hat and dig the braces; Mr. P - I like the new Champ and especially the color and bow; Garrett - incredible (understatement) hat; Jimmy - Like Indy said the binding sets that one off so well; Deputy - Love the ribbon against the color of the felt; Lloyd - That hat belongs outdoors in Big Sur (and also in the Green Machine thread!); Ernest - You are a sharp dressed man. :eusa_clap

Why do you ask?
It was a 2 hat day

This morning, I ran some errands wearing my Campdraft, but this afternoon/evening while out looking at wildlife at a local park, I wore my Federation.

So now I wear Homburgs, bowlers, fedoras( always in a medium bluish gray LOL), and of course my favorite silk plush or beaver top hats.

Nice Homburg!
I've all but convinced myself that with a thin face I can't pull off a Homburg, but your picture shows that with the RIGHT Homburg it can be done well. What brim width is that, if you don't mind?

Thanks guys. The Brim is 2 1/2 inches. I went to a fashion expo and all the homburgs from the 1920's suited me much better than those from the later eras. I have settled that 2 1/2 inches is the best brim width for me, on fedoras and homburgs.

Hi Metro, you have been gone from Hats for a while. Good to see you back; great look with that homburg and a nice pic to boot!
