You've inspired me, Michael. I will wear mine today, even if I don't plan to leave the house.
It is US Open and new hat brushing, steaming, stretching, and cleaning day. I haven't had time to do it since returning from Wisconsin, and this time I came back with 21 hats again, so it will take a while.

That's a great example of a hat, Max. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you today. You might have to start looking for a bigger house too. Ha ha.

Thanks,
Michael

Great looking JCP Michael. Enjoy the cool morning.

Day #3 of Gordon's visit to the Ohio Valley, making it feel like Seattle. The rain has been pretty much constant and steady since Friday night.

One of my favorite customs in your stable Jim. We get our rain all next week. Yesssss! Need to get the brush and steam out.

What a nice way to spend a day off Max. Lots of fondling. We expect to see a parade of pics next week. How's that Rat Pack Cavanagh? LO vibes.

Inspired choice, Red. Is it steam driven?

Great looking JCP Michael. Enjoy the cool morning.
Thanks Red. I think this was my most recent hat purchase. Could be wrong there. Ha ha. Slim brim 92 1/4") and low crown for a thin ribbon. I like it.

Thanks,
Michael

I still haven't gotten to it, Mike. I am starting with the wide brims, but it won't be long now. It got a little wrinkled in transport, but not much.

No, they refurbished all the mechanics, original 1909 bearing blocks had to go, and they did upgrade the controls to 20th century electronics for safety. The original electric motors that spin the structure were preserved. It was a labor of love for some local volunteers. It is amazing that the original 1909 gears survived intact.

That Cav felt can take a beating and keep on ticking. Damn Postal Gorillas!
No, Mike. You packed it well, and it arrived wrinkle-free to my friend Ron's. It just got a little wrinkled because I had to stack it along with 20 other hats in my carry-on bag. I found a soft nylon bag that almost seems purpose-built for stacking hats in, but a little wrinkling is inevitable nevertheless. I will post pics of the Cav shortly.

Love that style! I did one a couple weeks back with a similar look. Took an ond Bailey Homburg and dressed it up like a western style bowler. Mine has a 3" brim, Just wish it had a higher crown. :)
