Thanks Red. Sounds like there could be some all day felt hat weather this week. Maybe.

The straw looks good, Red. Please refrain from sending that heat this way.

Thanks Christophe. A few days ago I discovered a spot that at a certain time would get direct sun from the back and sun reflected off of a large window in the neighbors house from the front. Sadly, it may be somewhat Stonehenge like in that it seems to be moving out of sync already. But that did lead me to playing with what I have available for natural lighting.

So I've been entertaining myself with that while having my coffee in the yard the last few days.

Thanks all,
Michael

A Vanzina velour from Daniele. The feeling of the felt is spectacular! Daniele was right in that putting xxxs or stars to grade the felt of a hat is just a sales gimmick.
The narrow brim will take a little getting used to, but I don't think it looks bad.

Great texture on that felt.

Somewhat cooler yesterday. Wanted to grab on of my felts from the bedroom, but Simone was still asleep. Ended up with a wool Monsivais cap instead.

Thanks again, Sergej. Seems like we're all ready for something other than straw.

She's a beaut STEUR! But just can't bring myself here in West "by god" to put a felt on top til late Sept at the earliest.
This one was a stellar find Stefan. It is an interesting color in the sunshine, nice.

I consider this Hat City Hat Co. a beater because that was probably what it was when originally sold in the 1950s. This is truly an "entry level" or "cheap-o" hat. There was no price in it, but I would imagine it was at the bottom of quality level pricing. No bells and whistles, adequate felt, and not a recognized brand name. The Hat City reference in the name is to Danbury Connecticut where so many hats were made. It is an example of a beater from the era. I love it.

The material this cap is made from is one of my favorites on the Lounge Serge. It is just "Joe Cool"!

First class Bob, a gem.
Thank you, gentlemen. The weather is ready for felt here after a long heatwave (for Dutch standards anyway) and I'm ready too!

Today it’s a hat for a friend to see, et al.
Borsalino Nutria 2X Featherweight. Some of the nicest lightest most obedient felt i’ve felt, bar none.
Who says you can’t wear brown with a fine WV tux!
More detail posted in the Borsa Brotherhood thread.
Be well. Bowen
This one is so great I'm just green all over. All is not lost though; I've read you've bequeathed it to Mike. So there is still hope.

Learning so much from you guys about hats. Thanks for all your great input on my hat "adventures". Decided to try a Homburg today, found a beautiful Cavenagh for my 1st venture into this style of hat. Feels really odd on my head and it fits well but seems too small for the frame of my face and head. Thoughts? I'm thinking I should look for something a bit more substantial like a western style derby, aka Bat Masterson....

That is a good looking homburg, WK. Try it for a while and soon you'll be firmly in the homburg nation.
