Akubra Lawson. Another Western style hat that I am trying to get comfortable wearing :)

Stefan, Thank you! Great series of Panamas from you today!
Very nice Serge, love the pug.

It is wonderful that you have such a nice stable of Panamas. I hear there is an unusual heat wave in Europe. We are breaking records with the temps here.
Steve, Mike, thanks! I'm getting the most out of my panamas this summer, that's for sure.

P. & C. Habig Wien "Spezial Qualität" from 1957. This one is an export model for the Swedish market and in mint condition. It was either factory blocked or shop blocked. The size and position of the side dents are typical of the time period and markets. I have many 1950s era P. & C. Habig Wien Homburgs which were very popular in Germany and Austria.

On the right is Konrad Adenauer first Chancellor of West Germany who was famous for wearing a Homburg Hat during the 1950s. The hat directly below is his Homburg Hat and the prize of the Gotisches Haus (Gothic House) Hat Museum, Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany collection.

He wore his Homburg without side dents.

I was able to see the inside of the well worn hat and discovered that it was a P. & C. Habig Wien "Export Qualität" Homburg and not a German made Homburg. The museum was side tracked by the store name "Hellings Bonn, Germany". Adenauer's initials (Dr. K. A.) are on the sweatband.

Very cool, Steve. I did check if I have any hats in the collection with those initials, but no luck:)
Looks like Herr Adenauer was your size and not mine anyway.

When I am elected President of these Great United States, I shall nominate you as Special Envoy to the EU, hat division. Then if Daniele can secure a similar spot, we can have special missions to secure hat treaties and I can fly you around on AF1 for these things. You and Daniele can go on missions and expense them!

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Is there an apply form I can fill out?

Stefan, Thanks! If I visit again I will check the size.

I missed your hats again. Fantastic Borsalino "Dattero" and Dobbs "15" made under license. Is the Dobbs "15" Italian?
