Finished this one up yesterday afternoon. Late 50s, early 60s Royal Stetson, in what I believe to be an early version of Caribou. ~5 1/4" crown, 2 1/4" bound brim. It's been cleaned and blocked; I replaced the sweatband and put on a new ribbon yesterday so I could wear it to work today.

Great job on that one. I wonder if the colors had names back then?

Excellent Panama, Alan!

I like to play ping pong as well. I taught my first girlfriend's little brother to play when he was about 10 years old. Then he grew up to become Kurt Wicker, Mexico's champion and one of the best players we ever had. High-ranking executive, too, and a good friend.

Stefan, Thanks! Your Wulfken/Penumbra Panama has a really fine weave and great form. Super!
Penumbra. What a beautiful name for a hat company! It doesn't translate well into English. It means "almost shadow" or "almost darkness". It sounds beautiful, too.

Steve, Max, thanks. It's a joy to wear.

It seems to be a well made hat. It's another one of those that is in such a nice interior condition that I'm sort of afraid to wear it.

I picked up this felt cap number the other day. It's what I always call, to myself at least, a bicycling beanie. Made by Gap in China of 100% wool felt.

They call it Navy, but it appears as black to my eyes.

It's been my bicycle companion for the last couple of days, and I think will be for many more in the future.

Cool looking little hat, Michael. Very comfy I'm sure.
