I get bored and change things sometimes. The process feels creative to me. Can’t stick with one hat...

Great hats all, Jeff, but that Falcon Park is a real eyecatcher.

Can't say I've heard of that brand before, Jim. But it looks good to me.

Thanks, Stefan. It's a very old piece of felt, one of my oldest. A complete reblock and rebuild (though the ribbon is original). I believe I read somewhere Barclay is of French origin.

Gorgeous, Jim.. The way that is creased gives me an idea how the felt must feel.

You got that right. Very soft and pliable. Also one of my lightest hats.

Jeff; I was inspired to wear a bowler this afternoon when headed down to the dock to work on the boat . The bowler fits and is secure from taking a tumble in the water. No need to think a wind cord is needed with this stiff hat! The summer afternoon crazy overcast sky with humid conditions have the colors in the pics as goofy. The Stetson is black. Really black.

The Stetson vented top is really cool looking. As to venting, I am not sure any felt hat vents terrifically on a 84'F afternoon.

The frayed ribbon I think is attractive.

While my bowler is not as luxuriousely appointed as Jeff's this morning, I like it. Inspired by Jeff's post it came off the hat rack today for a bit of an adventure.
Hot damn you look great in every hat you own. A little jealous, I look a little goofy most of the time. Love the bowler. Most here post pictures of their bowlers but not them wearing it. As I say, you pull off the look really well. Got to keep an eye out for another bowler. My last vintage one, the brim started separating from the crown. :0
Wear it in good health.

Returned last night from our Alaskan cruise, wonderful trip! Being out of contact was hard, couldn't keep up with all the great hats. Internet on the ship was very expensive and spotty at best. One of our ports of call was Skagway, Alaska. A major excursion for me was the White Pass & Yukon Railroad. A trip up to the summit into Canada. This railroad was built in the 1890s and is still in operation today. Figured a early 20th Century Derby was a good hat for the day. My "Dunstatter", a Derby of unknown factory manufacture from the teens. Almost too hot for this one, we had spectacular weather. Photo in front of a 1900 steam snow plow. I'll have more images up later today in the Fedoras Afield thread.

That is a very cool bowler, Eric! Seems just as fine and luxurious to me, with those super cool vents! Looks great man.

Very early morning I was in a cap.

Early morning a visit to the St.Paul Farmers Market to grab produce and visit with a friend who was playing his guitars.

He is sport'n a modern Stetson Whippet I gifted him. The tapered crown and crazy brim works on humid sunny summer days.

No playing for me as I have a full day planned.

I parked near the State Fair Grounds and took the light rail. I needed to leave my auto at the Back to the 50's Car Show. I made a purchase bid that was accepted on a vtg.Chev. I wanted to get a car with BIG FINS for my wife for her birthday. It will be trailered over this afternoon. I can not wait until she gets home to see her new ride. Crazy color that she will certainly like.

Heading to the Back to the 50's Auto Show to pick up my modified vtg. 40's Ford. My Woody needs me to give it more attention. It is enjoyable to drive around. The vtg. Stetson Playboy was my hat of choice this morning.

My nephews are minding the auto while I grab the trailer. On and off again rain finds me in a 2012 Stetson Whippet in a coated straw. This hat gets the nod on warm and rainy days. Changed out of a vtg.Stetson Playboy felt.
