Greetings All:
I want to thank all of you fellow loungers for all the likes and especially each and every one of you for so many kind comments. You all are wonderful and i just can’t keep up with so many kind words. Thank you, for all the smiles.
So, today it’s another odd ball. I like odd ball hats. The Sovereign Stetson Eddie Bauer. I have a hard time calling it a fedora because it has metal vent holes in the side. Not my usual, but i likey. Guess it’s another fishin hat just not my Ol Lucky.

It’s been that cold and snowy for that long.
Yes the wind was high yesterday. Helped melt the last of it and dry up all the puddles. Last week the school fields were like swamps. Great for kite flying though. Kids idea and I had lots of fun. One of those activities I never think of but really enjoy.

Looks like a good grab-n-go hat for yard work, fishing, car washing, burying a body in the back yard kind of things. The metal vent holes must be an outdoorsy thing that Eddie thinks you need. Nice looking felt.

Been down working on the set all morning, we open the show next Friday..."Hell" (Tech) week coming. Wore the Stetson back bow pork pie to and from. Too much sawdust flying to wear it while working.

Rain on and off since last night. Going out while it's temporarily dry.
Lee White Label Doe-Sheen Fifteen.

Not wet enough for a raincoat at the moment, but this well loved old Army M-1943 field jacket I found thrifting should fare better than a leather if the skies open up again. There's no tag left in the jacket, but I'm guessing that it's an M-1943 field jacket because the hood has this:

And it goes with the hat!

Yes, I had forgotten about that. I've lived in Chicago for nine years, but I hate the cold, so now I came back to Mexico City. Never too warm or cold. Perfect.

Yes, sir. Twenty would have been the quality level when the hat was sold. Twenty=$20. Sovereign was used on a lot of hats of different styles. Maybe someone will chime in but more likely a "marketing" tool. Mode edge was Stetson's name for the felted edge developed by Cavanagh. It's often referred to as the "Cavanagh" edge.

Dobbs called theirs a number of names but the Guild edge is probably the most commonly heard. Knox and a number of other mfgs. used the process on their hats.
