As much as I like the explanation of the term, I favor the other one where the expression refers to the godess Eostra, Eostre or Ostara whose name means something like spirit of light, which would be more in keeping with the coming of spring. The K is silent, so Happy Easter is Moldavian for "Put down your keister," or "have a seat." (Hat tip to Ronnie Graham for that one).
Today I hoppied my keister at Easter vigil under a generous gift from fellow FLer @Michael R., a Dalton Homburg that is as clean as a whistle and soft as a baby's keister.
