Started off the morning under this 3X Stetson

And in my Swedish Army tunic
DSCN9455 crop by Michael A2012, on Flickr
But after hanging around the cold yard for awhile I decided maybe I wanted to get out on the bike.

So I swapped the Swedish coat for a Swedish cap

And the American hat for an American coat, in the form of a Filson Double Mac

Now maybe I'm ready to face the morning.

Great outfit again, Michael.

Once again weather change has forced me to put down my straw and back to felt. Yesterday's high 64 and now a winter storm warning next 24+ hours really sux. This time my great-great-grandfathers Dobbs from sometime in the mid-60's. :) Probably the last hat he ever purchased from Stern Brothers downtown Parkersburg.

So cool to have an heirloom like that. Wish I had one of my grandfathers' hats.

After a delicious lunch (Cantabrian sardines, salad and wine Soave), finally the sun and a cold temperature to be in March I wore this, arrived devastated, Borsalino
11liufm.jpg

Qualità Extra Superiore. Color "Sodio" with a particular ribbon and bow
2vcicl5.jpg

This is a fantastic heather felt. Soft and malleable, it was restored in Milan by Sergio Anzani - Cappelleria Melegari
2utlxqa.jpg

The major problems were in the shape, lost, and felt little stretched and with "buboes". The ribbon was unwatchable.
3176wxe.jpg

The restoration work was excellent and the medium-hair felt is a mixture of white, black and gray
29vdvu0.jpg

The shape is typical of a European hat of the seventies as well as the "fancy" ribbon

Thanks for the likes, and excuse me I'm a little chatty because sometimes I'm hanging in your language
You know I love my heathers. Great restoration and excellent looking hat.

Taking a break from writing to go to the shoulder doctor. The wife gets tired of my whining about the pain. Cortizone shot in the old decrepit bursa joint. :(
Today's European is a Lees of London dark blue 2" brim. This hat is being forced into a snap brim from it's original form of a upturned curled "homburgesque" one. Super felt and a cool bordello liner.

Love that colour. Works as a fedora too, Mike.

Very nice restoration, Daniele. The ribbon is a nice touch. Do you have any "before" pictures?

Your chattiness is just fine.

Nice conversion project, Mike, it looks good. Take care of that shoulder. A cortisone shot should get you back in the rotation in no time.

Lovely, Jim. Very nice liner.

Thank you. The embroidery on this one is done very well.

Picking up again after almost a week off (I started to shake). Beautiful hats everyone last week; I almost broke my finger clicking all the likes just now. Been really busy, but I'll try to post more regularly this week. I did get some shots last week though (and one today).

That is a super color, Red. Great.

Love the furry. I need a filson, wish I could find one in my size.
Thanks Red. Earflaps down mode was the ticket today. I was very comfortable on my hour long bike ride in that outfit.

That's a great quartet of hats to catch up with Stefan. All were great, but I am particularly keen on the homburgs. I need more 'burgs, and more heathers.

The Stetson Special.

Wowser Bob. That hat is aptly named. Should be the Really Special.
