A thoroughly THRILLING Thursday to ALL!
Started early today, enjoying the white stuff wearing my yard hat, the Stetson "Packard."

Back inside, looking out from under a Vintage Silhouettes dress felt in blue steel.

Oh man Charlie, you guys have really had a winter this year. My daughter is just above you in NH. She is probably getting hammered too. Great hats to meet the day. You stay safe and warm buddy.

Thin ribbon Thursday. Again, the Excellent Stetson Stratoliner in Sage. I keep meaning to get to ironing those wonky ribbon tails, driving me nuts in photos. Love the felt on this modern, crease courtesy of our long lost Ant.

Love to see Reddi Kilowatt make an appearance. Great Adam Jim.

I love this one Matt! Very interesting Stack offering, great color and liner. The hat band goes with the hat and gives it character, but is not my favorite part of the hat. What a great find! Embrace the Stingy!

Beautiful Cav David. Does it have the store address in the liner? Really cool.

Fantastic finish on that interesting Biskup Perry. You are amazing!

Nice old Stetson Richard, I dig the substantial cords on that thin ribbon.

The brim curl on that Dobbs is killer. Great look, love the overcoat.
Think what you will about that tiny little brim, Matt... there's still a definite COOL factor knowing it's a Mac-made Stack!

The color is similar to the MAcLachlan I have. See!!

Thanks guys.

I brought my other MacLachlan made hat with me today thinking that I would feel self-conscious in the Stack pretty much right off the bat. To my surprise, I've kept the trilby on and am digging it more and more as the day progresses. It's good for me to get out of my comfort zones. And damn... It's such a beautiful piece of felt... And I love the color. Even the non-grosgrain band is growing on me. I've also started a little research on the history of the trilby form. That's notching up my enthusiasm.

Charlie... I do SEE that insane MacLachlan. The color is similar. That beautiful blue looks a bit lighter than this one, though. What a marvelous hat you have there. I've been trying to tractor beam it to me through the screen. Sadly, that does not work.

On the trilby... this is very neat if'n yer into hat history and such. http://www.thefedoralounge.com/index.php?posts/71356
The rest of the thread is great, too. Lots of passion about the form.

Nice day for a Knox Michael, I like that felt color
Thanks Richard. The color listed on the tag of this one is Cornhill.

EXTRA Splendid, Michael! There's just something about a brim curl like that...
Thanks Charlie. It does have some curl for sure. Are you taking the Stetson cross country skiing today? Looks like the conditions are right.

I had a Dobbsburger once. It was delicious.

Seriously, that's a homburg with its own special flair. Great shape on that one, ya!
Thanks Scotty. Did you get it at the Top Hat Cafe?
lana turner getting a soda at top hat cafe soda fountain 1937 by gsjansen, on Flickr

Manuel Hernandez, the soda jerker who sold Lana Turner the soda which she was sipping a year ago when "discovered" by the movies and given a contract, preparing another soda for Miss Turner at the 17 year old beauty's "Discovery Anniversary" party at the "Top hat cafe soda fountain" located at 6750 Sunset Blvd, across the street from the Hollywood, High School, which she was then attending.

lana turner was discovered here at the top hat cafe, not at schwab's

Killer look.
Thank you Mr Barnes. You've been killing a lot of looks lately. I do like the stingy, but maybe you need a little more bongo.

The brim curl on that Dobbs is killer. Great look, love the overcoat.
Thanks Red. I wish I had a flange for that curl. The coat was made by First American Clothes out of Harris Tweed. I'm guessing in the early 1950s. Love the green Strat today. Always love the green Strat.

Killer hat and outfit Michael.
Thanks Perry. Your hat, vest and cardigan combo was the epitome of the casual dressy look.

Thanks all,
Michael

Two hat day out of necessity. Went outside to 40mpg gusts. The brim on the Strat wanted to lift. Figured something more aerodynamic was in order. First stingy on the pile was the Borsalino Mirtillo. Stayed in place, with some effort.

I'd think you'd want something less aerodynamic, no?

Still, nice Borsa.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
