Still bitterly cold today. Gave the ushanka a try and with the military coat. I think I got the look down if Poetin decides to come over and tell us what's what (don't think so though; his daughter lives over here). I'll leave the flaps up because if I take them down it makes me look like Radagast!

Gentlemen, thank you. You're too kind. They do go well together. The ushanka doesn't have any markings, but it was sold to me as bear-fur (not sure about that though).

With the Nor'easter, winds are high and predicted to gust up to 6,328,072,537 mph (or something like that). High winds necessitate a derby.

So, out comes one of my favorites: the 1920 or so Cohn-Asher, ASCO Hats California derby.

It's a vintage hat, I found it in an antique shop in Dearborn MI about 25 years ago. The band says "Designed by George the Hatter".

It works great, too. For experimental purposes I just visited the beach up at the Chesapeake Bay. Just a bit ago, the C.B. Bridge-Tunnel that is behind me in the photo measured a gust of 84 mph. While engaged in my shenanigans, I nearly got knocked of of my feet, but the hat didn't budge on my head.

Thanks Perry. The cardigan is one I picked up last year at Goodwill for either 88 or 44 cents. 100% worsted wool hand knit in China from Lord and Taylor. It's a heavy beast. You were looking well turned out today and your hat and sweater combo. Very nice.
