Well with storm ana nearing, it didn't flown away.
Still a WIP.
Still a WIP.
Thanks Mike!Very rich green color. I'm interested as to the story of this one. Maybe it is a "jobber" hat, made for a department store chain?
Thanks Stefan! You can make a trachtenhut look cool, John (which is quite difficult to do). As far as my experience goes they all are sturdy hats; very much an outdoors hat.
At least you won't get wet.Well with storm ana nearing, it didn't flown away.
Still a WIP.
Pure western goodness Greg.

Cattleman looks good on you, Rog. Glad to see another one around here.
Nice job on the re-crease Roger.
Michael
The cattleman crease really works for this one Roger. Nice condition.
Silverbelly goes good with the coat.Moved on to a second 1950s OR this afternoon. This one a Royal Deluxe.

I picked up an Air Force Topcoat/Trench Coat today and while I wasn't going to bother changing clothes I was wondering how Silverbelly would work with it. And a hat is easy to change.

Have a great Saturday night,

That ribbon works. Good combo.Stetson 3X conversion today. I didn’t do the conversion just changed a bright green ribbon put for this black one.
Hat looks brown on my phone but is really a dark sage

They picked the right Hat Wrangler for the job.Two hat day, so far. Might go out later. Helped some friends move early this morning (24 Degrees...at least it wasn't raining). I wore one of my "work" hats, my Hat City Hat Co. fedora from Danbury CT. Nice kick around hat, felt forms well, albeit a little stiffish. For brunch we went to a production meeting for our next play at the Community Theater. Wore the Dunstatter Mystery Derby, keeping with the theme of our show. We are doing Annie (Barf!) in the spring. The play is set in Depression Era USA, so I appointed myself "Hat Wrangler". It will be my mission to keep the hats proper to the period. The costumers were thrilled(?).
Thanks steur. I was so tired this morning after a bout of insomnia that I'm surprised anything went together well.
Thanks again. I think I rather like the light hat with the coat. To the eye the coat has a significant grey element that the camera doesn't seem to want to see today. But perhaps you were thinking of something like this?

The Marathon might work out okay, to some eyes at least. A rare three hat day now.
Super homburg and I'm with Red, let's see more of the coat. What nationality is it?
Thanks Red. I believe this one is the much more common silverbelly, but I will agree it's a lovely hat. I think it was my last OR pickup. The coat dates to 1951 and I'm trying to ascertain if it is first generation USAF Shade 84 or not. It was custom made in St Louis for one Capt. Alan Parker. I will probably put something about it over in the Overcoats thread after awhile.
Thanks Richard. That is a great looking 3X conversion you are wearing today. I really need to get on the stick and start working on some of my hats that need repairs or conversion work now that it's winter.
Thanks all for the likes and comments,
Michael
Very nice. The eye catching ribbon really does its job.Glad we only got a half inch of that evil "fluffy and white" stuff.
@EstherWeis today

My reblocked and reworked Turkey Creek Stagecoach. Dark and cold out this morning when I got up...
Montana Pinch
And, a few oldies...
The original version of "White Lightning" by the Big Bopper, who also wrote it.
Yes I asked him but he didn't comment. I asked a follow up about the grammar. I also asked a cousin that lives in Baden but haven't heard back. I will post this on the German - Austrian thread because some people in Germany might comment.
Here is Herbert's follow up.
"Well, the grammar is not unusual, but the text itself is strange. You would never express these things the same way today.
A complete No-Go for an advertise marketing ...
The only thing that would be objectively wrong today is 'vorräthig'. It's written correctly 'vorrätig'.
Rehfus-hats were really great, by the way. I love them. I should still have two or three somewhere in the stock. The lightness was their speciality ..."
Great hats!! Great taste!!Good afternoon. Busy past couple of days has me catching up. Great hat and cap parade of late!
Friday evening I was outside enjoying the lakeside in a vtg. Stetson Playboy. I was chuckling at the antics of our dogs in the snow.
Saturday evening I was grilling dinner in a vtg. Stetson Bantam.
This morning errands found me wearing a Gannon (bone hued felt).
Best, Eric -
Looking good!50's era 3X Stetson for me today. Recently recreased into a cattleman crease.
