Stefeno Italian newsboy. A great lightweight wool hat.
DOUGLAS said:I thought it odd that it is a Dobbs but has the Cavanagh seal on the sweat for it's edge.

Brad Bowers said:Not odd at all. Dobbs kept it in the family and called it a Cavanagh Edge (or in this case, an Improved Cavanagh Edge, for the second patent process), up until 1944, when they adopted the Guild Edge trademark. I've seen several of these "Improved" stamped sweatbands on Dobbs hats from the '30s. The same stamp also shows up on hats branded for Saks Fifth Avenue hats but made by Hat Corp.

May not be as old but definitely real sharp looking on you! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clapSpats McGee said:My first Open Road arrived yesterday, so it got its debut today. Even if it's not as old as the seller claimed, I'm still pleased with it.
HarpPlayerGene said:Ahhh, and Christmas is coming so you'll, no doubt, be dusting that one off despite it all.
DOUGLAS said:Gene, with all of the GREAT hats you have? I imagine you have you own selection process for matching your hats up no matter what your wearing.
You have one of the best collections around.

HarpPlayerGene said:Thanks, Douglas. I'm not complaining, that's for sure. I'm plenty satisfied with my hats and I like my casual threads too, but I'd welcome it if I had more than a couple of occasions each year to put on a coat and tie. I'd give you a run for your money!

And speaking of coordinating, here's today's get-up.
