all black today. c.1920s Schwarz. had to force a happy look, mourning a tragic loss of my father in law yesterday. Hug your significant others, children, siblings, pets for me on this day. Give all the love you can, because in the end, that is all we have

We're very sorry to hear of the loss of your father in law, Justin. We lost Sandra's father recently and I know how tough it can be, especially for our wives having lost their Dad's.

I tried to snuggle up with Mike Miller like this and he was having none of it, then his wife and daughters chased me out of the shop. I think they had weapons, too, like scissors and a #52 wooden block! I must be doing something wrong!

Running errands today in a 50s Stetson No 1 Quality. More pics in the “Conversion Corral” thread. This used to have a 1/8” ribbon. Now it has a vintage 1 3/8” burgundy ribbon.

Another week, another WEDDING! Yup, down in Anthony's (@moontheloon) neck of the woods, sort of. This time a black tie affair, NO option! Fine, as long as one of my selection of tuxes fits (they shrink, and grow over time I have found...). My first, and favorite tuxedo has earned its keep, having been worn to several weddings, including my sister-in-law's colossal, three-ringed extravaganza 30 years ago. Where did I get this great garment? It was the very one my father wore to his indoctrination into the Masons in 1946. Yes, I have gotten Dad's father's money's worth out of this one!

Hat: 1952 Stetson St. Regis. Perfect!!

Oh, yes! They also had an attended coat/hat check room. The young gal was so completely clueless about what to do with a hat that when I suggested she slide the ticket behind the ribbon she misunderstood, and attempted to force the F-ing COAT HANGER into it. I saved it, and gently educated her for the next hat under her care.
