Thank you all for your kind comments. The lighting does not portray the color well. Its a standard silver belly. This pic shows the color better.

I wore this hat in the rain often and it did shrink so I re blocked it. I'm curious to find out if it will reach a point of no more shrinkage or "dead felt" if it shrinks and is re blocked a few more times.
I'd guess it will get there but it may be a combo of shrinkage and time that does it.

I’m sorry to hear you have to occasionally use a respirator. I hope your health is doing better my friend. You do have a great mustache!

I think Bill's OK, Jeremy. He's referring to a respirator used as personal protection equipment (PPE). The kind you wear in confined spaces, high particulate areas or working in a chemical environment. I use to work with hazardous waste and sometimes asbestos, and had to shave a couple of times during that period to don a respirator. But like I said, that's a horse of a different color, and an employer is required to require you to comply.

Love that crease Jim
Inspiring
This one , your game bird , and your CC creases inspire me greatly

Thank you kindly, Ant. It's a testament to the talents of Mr. Gannon that you put the profile and crease of one of his hats in the same league with those two classics.

Great Great hat, Fruno!

Thanks, D!

No vent, and no they don't make them like this anymore. For regular money at least. Yes, I like the Knox. I wonder occasionally if it's not a Biltmore Grand Beaver under different labeling.

Thanks,
Michael
Hmmnn! Interesting thought...... you don't see a lot of manufacturers putting out those long hair finishes. A good topic to research.

For the peons among us that don't own the highly coveted, but rarely discovered Polar, I suggest a yeoman's felt like my second tier Aristocrat (as repaired by Mike Miller of NW hats). My humble submission, sir.

Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes I have to wear a respirator for work as a safety measure. Because of that I cannot have facial hair on my cheeks or under my chin.

But I truly do appreciate you concern.

I work in the semiconductor industry as an equipment tech. So I spend a lot of time in clean rooms. This picture is about 15 years ago but that’s me on the right.

Almost finished with this Navy Blue 3X Resistol conversion. This is the hat that Michael R gifted to me. It started out as a Western. I'm reusing all that I can that was original to the hat. I just finished the brim binding. The hat ribbon isn't sewn on yet. I want to see if I can clean it up a bit first. But, this is what I have so far. More pics to come in the Conversion Corral...

Well, that's a whole 'nother matter, indeed. I've been in that situation myself. However, an employer who would demand such a thing of me, especially in my profession, would not have me as an employee. I was once fired from a job at - get this - a record store and head shop, because I wouldn't cut my hair. And it was actually shorter than the day they hired me. And the owner assaulted me on my way out the door after I was fired.

Good times.
