Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
This just keeps getting better! Man, I love that hat. The boots are exceptional too. I am a big fan of western boots and wear them every day, so I appreciate seeing them in the photo. What kind of leather are they?
Thanks Terry. I don't remember seeing too many felted bands when I was hat buying. I think this is the only one I have. Timothy's Closet had an identical one and he claimed it was a '40s hat. No idea myself. I've been wondering, can you straighten a brim off cut out and turn it into a band when you are doing a conversion?Looks great Michael. Those hats with felted bands seem to be harder to come by these days.
Thanks steur. It is a gorgeous autumn day here. I think this is the first all day outing for the shirt I'm wearing today. Italian made Hickey Freeman wool/cashmere blend and oh so comfortable. I hope many more such days show up.You certainly have the autumn colours down, Michael. Great look.
Super duper!

The grey skies, cool wind and rain is back. Here's my Penman Steel beaver custom with a few raindrops on it. Fits like a glove but with a new, lower, diamond crease in place of the original center dent. I think I like it better this way.
.
Thanks Stefan! This hat is the one that made me appreciate the grey/brown combo. That is a fantastic hat with a great colour combination, John! Heather felts are made for autumn.
Thanks hato!Another good one Moe.
Great looking hat, Bama!
Thank you! You sure hit the ground running here with all the great vintage lids. I've been impressed by the quality of your hats, sir.Damn, that's sweet!

That Borso is PERFECTWorking class and ruling class... an assemblage of two thrift purchases totaling ten dollars (plus dry cleaning). The Borsalino was a Buffalo find which had the prior owner's printers and engravers union card under the sweatband. The coat was a Southampton find... expensive coat originally, I think.

Have a super Friday
Michael
I would not take it off for the first week or two myself.Still under the Gannon Mr. Natural on a cool, sunny, fall Friday.

There is a possibility, they have more high powered talking heads than me though. My oral histories will be prominently represented. The Velour is looking super Red. Should wow them at OPS. Are you going to be on tv?
Michael
Defiant one! With a hat as beautiful as that Mallory, a little sweat is worth it.Weather be damned, it's a felt Friday for me. Mallory Premiere:
And brim up for Bob!
It will be an hour episode of Oregon Experience. It will be next June for the premier. I will be providing content and working directly with OPB for the production.Very cool, Mike. Be sure and let us know when it airs. You look grand, friend.
