Sir where do you purchase your Resistol Hats ? I have seen nothing like the ones you have on the web. Are they all vintage ?

Thanks

Sonero, I found both of mine on the web. One from eBay and the other from another auction site. One is likely from the 60's and the other is from the 50's. The only modern version that is similar would be the Stetson Open Road, though the LBJ Presidential Library does offer these, http://www.lbjstore.com/all-the-way-with-lbj-lbjs-open-road-resistol-hat.html. I don't think they would be very good quality.

I don't know what size you wear but let me know and I'll keep an eye out for you a vintage one. When you do an eBay search, check the Stetson Open Roads and also look for open road clones.

My parents have been visiting and so we went for a family hat shot on their last day.

Good opportunity to pull out some hats;
My mother has the 1960's Borsalino, father sporting the early 1950's Stetson Mode Edge, daughter has Dutch "Imperator" (too small for me so now hers) and I have the Borsalino 50's Alessandria. Son has gone colourfully rogue as usual.

My father does not speak much but he became quite animated saying he felt like Al Capone and asked if I had a Thompson he could borrow... I told him he could not keep the hat but would get him one if he wanted. He's 82 but it is never too late to start wearing hats!
Great family picture! You will enjoy that picture even more in yrs to come.

I don't know, Jim. I have one going on in my head most days. Does that count? I suppose we could boycott. Just not sure what we'd be boycotting. Bandwidth use?

I miss Bob.

For me, it's more of an argument than a riot. Fortunately, the sensible voices seem to be winning, but some days it's dicey.

Only one day and we miss him. That says a lot.

Looking good the last few days, gentlemen.

Good to see that Dobbs and the smirk, buddy.

Looking for rain today (hope Bob's still checking in for weather reports) under my Gus Miller in Bone.

Honestly, I could never afford Campy. I hear it is great, smooth and fast. I have nothing negative to say about my 6700 Ultegra groupo. However, a friend has been very disappointed with his SRAM Red groupo. I'm not impressed by it either. I would like to try a full Dura Ace on my next bike venture.

My Campy stuff is/was from the early 1970s. NOT state of the art by todays standards. The current state of bicycling technology at my place began with a clearance hybrid "K-2" from Sports Authority 15 years ago for about $125. That, and another clearance model Janel are good enough for me these days.

Irma must still be east of us .
We are supposed to get clouds coming in from the NE today on the back spin, & a barometric pressure dropping.

Wind and rain here with the schools closed. They closed Redstone today to all non-essential personnel, so Lady B is home today. Winds were predicted to be greater but nothing bad so far.
I thought about you & Dale when I saw that on the Weather Channel last night.
