no indian summer this year, odd to think last couple of years i've worn shorts in september. bit of an indoor day here, galway are playing waterford in the hurling final on tv, and a couple of miles away in front of 90,000 spectators in croke park, the fire is on, and my panizza was hanging nearby. Oh my, the fire scene is too much, we're experiencing triple digits warmth here in Central California, yesterday at 8PM it was 102 F. Thinking about starting a fire right now is unthinkable, wow!

On another note, your hat and the clarity of your pictures are great!

I was all suited up in my shorts, Hawaiian shirt and straw when I opened the door to go out and take some photos. Damn, it was chilly out there. So I threw on long pants and the nearest felt hat. Stetson Royal Deluxe Open Road

The hat doesn't seem to want to show it's tan with peach nature today and looks on my monitor more like silverbelly.

I'm pretty sure the warm weather clothes will be coming back before I get out on my bike ride in an hour or two.

Dig the hat and shirt combo, I've been wanting one of those Open Road hats for a long time!

I wear 4" brims in my vehicles all the time & have for yrs. This one is a 4-1/2" brim & it keeps bumping the headrest behind me. I got tired of that after a while & placed the hat in the seat next to me.
My driving position allows me to drive with a +4" brim, but with the black Tom Mix is not so easy. Bumps on the top, bumps on the headrest...
Well if you get too much tired of it, you can always send it to me. You know I'll take good care of it ;)

Such a nice collection of lids this Sunday A.M. It was cool this morning so I broke out another of my Stagecoach conversions. This poor hat has been through the roughs going through 3 or 4 separate conversions. This will be the last conversion. Got it where I want it....

On another note. My Mom's been a real trooper over the last week having to suffer through two surgeries. One surgery to put a pacemaker in her heart and the second for a broken hip that she suffered from a fall last Tuesday. Through it all she never lost her sense of humor, except that she was pi$$ed when they took her teeth out before surgery...Good news is, she's doing very well.

I hope she'll be well soon. Best wishes.

I love that shirt! Hold on to summer as long as you can, just wear felts in the process. The rake on that Stetson is to die for.
GREAT lids everybody!!!!

Closing in on the days of straw (not to be confused with the "days of awe") I grabbed a 1960 Stetson Milan, fitted with one of my grandfather's pugs.

Nothing nicer than a 60s milan, they all have that "cool kat" character. To have a pug from your father...priceless.

Don't know which I like more. The shirt or the hat. A killer combination.
