It's really too warm and humid for a felt hat, but I get so little head time with my lids that I can't leave them alone. At least not until it gets really hot. Say, around April.

Early '60s Royal De Luxe Stetson today:

Thanks Serge, I think I agree.

Fantastic look today Michael. The color of that suit is cool.
Thanks Red. The colors on the suit are pretty cool. I think this is the most detailed shot I have of the fabric.

Thanks Michael the worth goes to Steve. The beautiful, in the search of the hats, is the discovery of some cover head that you have never seen or tried. This one is special, but is a the spur to find others. Allow me to tell you that I could say the same thing for the suits that you wear. They are fantastic but you have a sort of magic path to find fantastic suits and apparel. In some way you make me want to "rediscover" my italian taste (that is strong and in the tradition) to look with new eyes to "Three pieces" men dress, jackets and coats. That's important. So since you are a small size hats wearer I suggest to look at the European market where you will find treasures. If you need a "native" scout let me know

Steve is the man who deserves the worth!
Thanks Daniele. Your hat today and the photos that bring out the velour beauty of it are out of this world. Today's suit is of an English/Italian influence with a double vented back. It was from a brand that marketed to college students primarily and I think it dates to the mid-60s and I also think it is the first 3 piece I acquired in my current collection.

I will have to look at the European market for hats. You and Steve certainly find a lot of gold there.

That's a great look with the OR to top it off, Michael! I need to find one in that color.
Thanks Robert. It is an interesting color for sure. It seems to take on green or brown tones depending on what is near it. Not positive if that was the original plan or if it's "patina" acquired with age.

Damn. I like every bit of that. The suit, hat, shoes, tie, watch. Excellent. Is that a stratoliner?

Thank you sir. The answer to your question is in my first sentence, Stetson Royal Open Road. The watch is the old piece in today's collection. The story goes that it was sent by my Grandmother to my Grandfather while he was in boot camp during WWI. But my memory could be garbling that story, it could be that my Grandfather broke it during boot camp and sent it to my Grandmother to keep until he returned. They were not yet married then.

Thanks all,
Michael

The royal road remains open. So I progress along it in my week of seeing what hats and three piece suits look like together.

No sun again today, in fact quite a lot of rain expected. I'll have to put on my Woolrich raincoat when I go out.

Love the color David, it seems to have a hint of mint!

Thanks, Red. Yes, this hat is a greenish grey (or is it grayish green).

The felt on this Borsa looks so light and thin. Is it? Great looking hat.

Michael

Thanks, Michael. Yep, the felt is both thin and light.

When I travel I often roll this hat to fit in the little triangular Borsalino box and take in my bag. It pops right back into place when unpacked.

Cheers!
David

I solemnly swear that I'm wearing a hat every day. Same old hat every day tough, and going utterly nuts on the last days of the crowdfunding for Barcelona's Stroll with a Hat event. Seems pretty clear that we will reach the minimum and get the funding, pfffiuuu. Yesterday I was flabbergasted when I saw that Philip Treacy had made a contribution, it doesn't get much better than that. I had sent an email, but never in a million years hat I expected a contribution, not because the event is not worth it, but because he is a very busy guy. So by the time I had taken this pictures on the elevator at the end of the day I was pretty happy:
