FWIW, it looks great. What is it you don't like about the CD? That it's stiff? I used to have an Akubra Squatter. When I got it, it was stiff as a board. After getting it soaked--and I mean SOAKED--in a rainstorm a couple of times, it become quite soft. You might come to love it. Just sayin'.

I've had it for years ... so that theory is pretty much gone
it is stiff ... thick as a brick ... and the quality is pretty much crap
I have other Akubra hats that I like just fine .... this one is trash ... strangely it is the acclaimed Heritage grade and all the others are Imperial

Yep, inconsistency is about the only thing that's consistent when it comes to modern, factory made felt fedoras.

Everybody's been wearing great hats again! My compliments to all. The brim binding on @hatsRme 's stetson is especially interesting, and I loved seeing @sergejvandervreede 's pictures of Antwerp - always a beautiful & fun city. And that hat Esther made is outstanding!

Looks nice from this distance, would some sanding even the edge? Wobbly edges get to my nerves too!

I haven't dared to sand the edge yet as I have no experience doing anything like that and I didn't want to make it worse, but maybe I should try...
Inspired by your Harrods hat the other day, I decided to wear mine today. It's made of a thick, velvety deep blue rabbit fur felt. Forgot to take a picture of it on my head I'm afraid.

Thanks! Yes, it's made of a kind of thick soft cord and could technically double up as a wind trolley. It makes a change from the wider ribbons I usually prefer, but variety is the spice of life :)
Your hat today is great too, suits you perfectly. And I like the way you always stick your hat pin through the bow. I need to start making a habit of that too, I've got so many pins I barely ever use...
