Yeah...

When I first started wearing them a few years ago, it never occurred to me that they could be successfully (whatever the heck that means...) worn outside of the "coat and tie" formality with which they are usually represented in classic films.

I think that the casual use of the homburg is kind of like the mirror image to the formal use of the cowboy hat in the American Southwest. Folks wear those with suits all of the time.

The "norm" for both hat styles (maybe all hat styles) can be broadened to fit additional cultural contexts. It just takes folks to give it a shot. Of course, I suspect that the same really could be said for any "fashion".

I think I am thinking way too much about this. I need a lobotomy...[emoji12]

Have a great day!

Sent from thin air using electricity and other wizardry.
My ship came in from Matt with a Mallory brother to this beautiful Dobbs Hommie. Sorry to be a day behind, but I was running late to the theater, only had time to unpack and wear it last night. I was in solidarity, only incognito from the lounge. Love the shirt to the max!!

I am wearing my newest from Mike at NW Hats. It is dark(ish) brown FEPSA hare/rabbit mix to the felt. This is my first FEPSA and I am a fan. To me this hare/rabbit blend rivals the Winchester beaver and kicks the crap out of their rabbit. Although the FEPSA cost me the same price as a Winchester beaver felt. I have multiples of each type from Mike so it is a fair comparison of the felts. I went with a deep centre dent, deep pinches on a 4 1/2 bashed crown and a 2 3/8" whip stitched brim. The brim is flanged to stay curled up, no snap. I will take some time (again) to try and post pics here.
I wish our American hatters had better/easier access to the FEPSA felts as I would love to own a 100% beaver.
