A happy day to all!
Looks great Jim! I broke down and creased my CBCD this weekend and am very happy I did. I really like it. Glad it did not sell.[emoji443] Down by the river...
I wore my Campdraft...[emoji445]
Apologies to Mr. Young.

Looks great Ken! What method did you use to clean the felt?Recently picked up and restored Champ. I know this is not a desirable vintage hat or as nice a lid as most of other members really nice vintage hats. I don't know the age but is my first non-modern hat. The brim is 2.5" and 5" crown (open) so the dimensions were favorable and appears to be light weight. I picked this up at a local antique store and cleaned the felt (sweat?), made a custom ribbon (first attempt- will replace at a later time) and did some light shaping (all thanks to the enormous wealth of info on this forum- thanks everyone). Some before and after pics:

Killer hat.
Speaking of Mr. Young and things that might happen "Down By The River," we shouldn't be worried about you engaging in the type of events depicted in that song should we?
It's "killer hat" not "killer in hat", right???

Thanks, I used VM&P Naptha. I saturated the hat and gently worked the hat with a new microfiber towel, repeated it a couple of times and dried with a box fan over night, I decided not to follow the method of soaking the entire hat (would of taken a lot of solvent and would of been a little pricey, I considered camp fuel which is cheaper but was unsure about it having any negative effects due to the additives); it only took about 1/2 Qt. Amazing to see the dirt lift off onto the towel.Looks great Ken! What method did you use to clean the felt?
VERY good job! Looks like it worked like a Champ! (pun intended)Thanks, I used VM&P Naptha. Thanks Matt. Never seen it anywhere else. Guess you could call it a finshed overwelt? Or a bound overwelt? That brim treatment is nuts, Bob.
