Thanks Cristina. I live in a small city, but a rich environment for thrift stores. It's a university town with a teaching hospital, law school, etc. So over the years there have been some good dressers around the town. It's getting very hard to find 50s or 60s clothes in the thrifts anymore. Most of those I get from a vintage shop.Great look Michael! Do you live in a big city with lots of thrift stores? Here in Barcelona we don't have that kind of store (or at least not with that kind of quality garments), but my theory is that in the 50's-60's Spain was a poor country under Franco's dictatorship, not the consumer society that you had in the US at the time, combined with the high quality workmanship which is missing in today's clothes..

You are a god! How does this quality come up so frequently second hand? I still think there must be a geo-political,sociological, socioeconomic regional component to the stuff you find vs what is here in the NW. Makes me wonder what is available in the deep south of the nation. I love that overcoat! and the stingy is a hoot. Thanks Red. The Mallory is a fairly unique felt, in my collection at least. And since you said to keep them coming, it turned into a two stingy day, as opposed to too stingy,

A Resistol Alpha from whatever time a hat like that cost $10.50.

And the reason for the change is that I needed a hat to go with the Brooks Brothers overcoat I found at a thrift this morning.
