Dobbs Thirty made in Italy under license in the Cappellificio Panizza - Ghiffa
This the explanation: "The workmanship, first handicraft, was aimed at the production of a fine hat and excellent quality. These characteristics earned him a reputation for Panizza that the factory, thanks to the agreement signed in 1957 with the Hat Corporation of America , he obtained the privilege of producing in its plants some well-known US brands, such as "Dobbs" and "Knox."
It comes from the presentation of Museo del Cappello situated in the old factory on the board of the lake Maggiore
There are others signs of the provenance but more in Panizza thread

YOU have done it AGAIN, Dan!!! Fantastic find, my friend!

I've been running since 6 a.m. Just got back with my Everyman non-Indy hat in Granite from Penman Hat Co. It's got 50/50 rabbit/beaver felt and John fit it to my head shape, then steamed and creased it into a great diamond crown. I love it! This is no flimsy snap brim, the front brim is creased down in front, as it should be, and will never be worn up. :)

John took a quick pic before I left his shop. Now I gotta go get MrsFed for some lunch!

Cheers everyone!
