Cavanagh Twenty.
This is the second puzzle of vintage hats who arrived a week ago in my office
Gray with black ribbon, upper-middle crown
Medium soft felt
Lining in red, almost purple
Sweatband in black leather with an inscription that got me astonished
Dobbs Thirty made in Italy under license in the Cappellificio Panizza - Ghiffa
This the explanation: "The workmanship, first handicraft, was aimed at the production of a fine hat and excellent quality. These characteristics earned him a reputation for Panizza that the factory, thanks to the agreement signed in 1957 with the Hat Corporation of America , he obtained the privilege of producing in its plants some well-known US brands, such as "Dobbs" and "Knox."
It comes from the presentation of Museo del Cappello situated in the old factory on the board of the lake Maggiore
There are others signs of the provenance but more in Panizza thread

Good looking Gannon.
My whiskey Gannon hasn't left my head much since it showed up on my front porch in November.

It arrived from Art Fawcett as a centerdent, but I had to raise the rear of the crown a bit to clear my head. At last I gave in, listened to the hat, and recreased it as a diamond-with-dome. The beaver blend felt makes it the smoothest-textured hat I have.
Hi Red, people call it Baby Blue...its a great color !!!Do you have a Gannon in absolutely every color?? Love this one too, how blue is it in the sunshine?
A nice hat, with an interesting heritage! Cool story with this one. This is the second puzzle of vintage hats who arrived a week ago in my office

Love the Homburg, classic. You worry about mending yourself. We are all here to support you! Prayers.Happy Friday.
Everybody's offerings from the last 24 hours have been great.
Thanks to all of you for your kind wishes about a speedy return to "normal" for my battered brain. And, no @moehawk the offending dream wasn't sheep related (I'm a goat man, myself).
In an effort to limit screen time (it is amazing how much of life involves screens!) I am cheating. I'm wearing this hat, but have journeyed to the past for the photo.

It's fun to wear, except that -- while it fits -- it doesn't grip my head with the authority of a lot of my other hats, including my '60s Borsalino Savoy. So it doesn't get the head time of a lot of my other lids.
Nice looking modern Dobbs, I like the color.Good morning.
New Dobbs today
