Thank you! I literally lose sleep if I don't plan out my outfits ahead of time ha
Ha, I tend to plan mine, then change my mind in the morning anyway :) Is that you in your profile picture?

Nice hats today, everyone!
Disney for me .

I knew so little about American hats before coming to this forum. Those Disneys really are beauties...

Thanks, Celia! A side note on the bow tie -- it's a custom one my daughter made for me. Naturally it's my favorite, so long as my neck doesn't get too fat for it to fit.
How nice! Does your daughter make other accessories/clothes for you too?

Looks nice n warm Celia. Im sure it is..
Yep, just what's needed in the weather we're having here. Winter's well and truly arrived!

Sorry for my lack of replies to all the nice comments. My ability to concentrate is still limited to nanosecond bursts. Pilgrim.

I've turned something of a corner today and I think at this point I may actually survive.

Maybe by tomorrow I'll feel good enough to care.

Lots of fine hats around here as usual.

Michael
Very happy to hear you're starting to feel better! And another great outfit :)

Do I spot people wearing short sleeves in the background?! And is that a tiny kangaroo on your hat?

I set my camera on a picnic table and use a remote control. My wife thinks I'm narcissistic enough without me asking her to take pictures of me every day. :D
Haha, well they look great anyway! What kind of camera do you use?

Spending a few days with our daughter by the Pacific Ocean... my go to Santa Barbara hat is a Disney Gadabout.

Today, I am test driving a hat that I bought several years ago but have had in a box for that time for reasons I will likely detail in the Homburg Nation thread.

The felt on this (what I believe to be a '40s creation) exceeds the quality of my similar vintage Vita-Felts. I have no idea which maker Julius Garfinckel & Co. contracted for their store branded hats, but whoever it was... they did one hell of a job.

Garfinkel's was a high-end department store in DC. I remember it being quite the place, even when I grew up in the area in the '80s. For a long time, it was the parent company of Brooks Brothers. And Mr. Garfinkel, was a much admired, largely solitary but very kind-hearted man. He died in 1936 and the store collapsed into bankruptcy in 1990. A link about the store and another about Mr. Garfinkel are at the end of my post.

$12.50 Julius Garfinckel & Co. homburg:

Nice looking coversion! Did it start out as a western? Stay inside and warm.
It started out as a late '40s - early '50s Stetson nutria western that had some brim issues. It belonged to a friend of mine who did the conversion. He gave it to me and sent it open crown. I did the creasing and the ribbon work on it....

I'd like to do more conversions than I do now but I lack the tools and material to do more. That stuff don't come cheap!
