Looking snazzy hatsRme! What a cool hat!

Thanks, Bertie! I like your new avatar...

It's a safe bet that we're all solidly behind your boater project, and so I hereby nominate you as the "Promoter of the Boater!!" I haven't found a vintage one in my size, (but do own a newer Rialto) and so must continue to envy the collections of others. Bring 'em on!!

Thanks for carrying that torch, sir.

Pushing it with what? A ten-year pole? I turn 57 next month and you look a decade younger.

I lost 130 pounds a few years ago, but have put about 80 back on. I'd like to drop 50 again and keep it there (I know how ... just need to do it). Where is the weight loss encouragement thread?
I hit the wall at 60 in a couple of weeks. No weight loss stories to report however, maybe in the near future?

Thanks for the hat parade folks! Great hats/lids the past week.

Unfortunately it has not been hat wearing weather in my neighborhood. In our on-going Polar Vortex cold spell I have not been wearing a fedora. Caps under a hood have been the norm of late. Today the high should be around -2F.

Here is this mornings cap (Damian Monsavais French cap) in the -8F temps.

It's cold outside. Best, Eric -

I greet the brand new, sunny day under the '30s Crofut & Knapp, Knapp-Felt derby... View attachment 64337 View attachment 64338 View attachment 64339 View attachment 64340 View attachment 64341 View attachment 64342

C&K always had some of the most stylish and artistically striking ads...

A very merry Thursday to all!
Great derby Matt, snazzy jacket as well! I really appreciate the Knapp Felt advertisements, they are really cool. I think I'll wear my 1930s Stetson Derby today in solidarity! Its super cold for us in the PNW, 20 degrees on my deck.

I'm afraid I don't know much about the tie. It caught my eye at a thrift store since the blossoms almost look like dogwood blooms. It's somewhat knot planned, as the upper portion is darker than the wide blade. Between the design and the label I knew I had to buy it.

This is a fantastic tie!! Love the pattern and DOBBS!!! It would go perfectly with all my Dobbs hats. I realize nobody would notice or care in my world, but I would wear it with historic pride!

That C&K is A-ok, Matte, with great photos, as usual! But your jacket/sport coat is spectacular!!
Thanks Chuck-ee.

I saw the jacket in a thrift store a few days ago. I was immediately reminded of one of our resident masters of fashion, @Michael A . And I thought: "I am gonna follow that bad dude's lead".

So... THANKS @Michael A !!!
You are the man.

Thanks Mr. T.

I like snow. We are supposed to get upwards of 8 or 9 inches here on Saturday. That's a tremendous rarity for us. It'll be a hoot.

Sadly, very few people know how to drive in it here... Bumper cars.

Be careful out there in Funkytown.

If there is one way to get on my bad side...:)

I pity da foo' that calls me Mistah T!!

You are the President of the Society for Obscure Hat Brands, aren't you?

I could get down with that. I lost 90 lbs a year or so ago and have been working to keep it off.

I can definitely say it changed my life.

Michael
That's strictly awesome, Michael! I kept the weight off for about 12 years Then my knees went bad and I had to stop running. But I didn't adjust my intake to match my physical activities. Then I just got lazy... I probably lose about 100 pounds a year. Unfortunately, it's the same 5-10 pounds, over and over!!!
