Happy Saturday and even better THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR.

Going out with an Aristocrat quality Mallory Cravenette Derby. View attachment 64009
Just because, here is an article about the cravenette process from the American Cloak and Suit Review from 1915. Interesting stuff.
Also, what I believe is my favourite hat advertisement of all time. It antedates my derby by some time. View attachment 64016

I hope that you each have joy. [emoji3]
Happy new year.

You could start a musical group and your backup singers could be the Cravenettes!

Great ad, BTW.

Good morning from a cold and sunny Verona

Hahahahaha!

Oh... The days...

Man... we friggin' loved that Mad Dog rot gut. We called it The Doctor. Used to drink it out of fine crystal glasses (just to add an appropriate level of ironic jackassery)... And a cold forty of High Life (paper bag and all) out on the front porch after a long day along with a pack of smokes... Just heavenly.

While they will not admit it, I am pretty sure that my folks dropped me on my head several times when I was an infant.
Some things are universal! With us it was Annie Green Springs = Mad Dog in overall quality and bouquet!

Already tomorrow in New Zealand, so Happy New Year as it rolls around the globe!
Now almost four weeks in a sling, I expect to be free of it in another couple of weeks. Or else!
It's not the sling I'm getting tired of... it's sleeping in a recliner chair for all this time. Wreaks havoc on even a healthy lower back.

Royal Stetson, ca 1950s...

Beautiful back bow Stetson! Good to hear you will be semi-free in a couple of weeks. Sleeping in the lazy boy must be challenging :( Happy New Year, keep your chin up!

The last day of the year is dedicated to a fur hat finished with medium hair in green

Guerra 1855 brand, it is the brother of those shown (brown and cream) a couple of weeks ago

Felt soft and malleable it has a wonderful finish and shines in different green shades

Happy New Year my friend! That color and finish is truly special! It does catch the sunlight with a shiny dance.

It's also my tribute to Amana Woolen Mills day today with necktie, scarf and jacket loomed and tailored in Amana Iowa. I'm sure many a hat was seen inside that Amish factory.

Michael, it's apparent that the Whippet has waited decades to find its rightful owner. Spectacular find, and just perfect for YOU! Congrats!!!
