Wonderful hat Daniele. Is it usual to have contrasting ribbons or does it indicate that one of the ribbons has been replaced? Yesterday there were a lot of hats with contrasting ribbon on this thread!

For men's hats, it's fairly common. It seems that black on black was very popular at the turn of the last century, but as style evolved into the art deco era and beyond, things got a little more bold. You'll see many hats on here with ribbons that contrast with the felt, and brim bindings that contrast with both. I like bold colors myself, and when I have ordered customs, I usually take that opportunity to express that. It's fun.
