I haven't felt a D'Aquino beaver-felt -- Won't reach NW's quality, I'm sure, but the cost is only around 100.00 US and they'll customize at no extra charge.

No comparison. I have two D'Aquino bunnies (well, one is my wife's Agent Carter hat) and a beaver. While the FEPSA beaver felt is very nice, it doesn't compare to the four custom beavers I have (three Gannons, one Gus Miller). A beaver for $250 is a good price from NW (I don't own any NW Hats). D'aquino can only customize to a certain extent, and the finishing quality isn't the same as a custom.

D'Aquino was a nice stopover on my way to customs, but I doubt if I'll ever go back.

Hence the word "custom". I only have one of Mike's hats in my collection to date, but adding another next month and a straw and a powder blue and a cherry. Well, you get the idea. I don't have them in my home, but I have fondled the fine beaver felt on just about everything in his display case, so I feel a little qualified to express some opinion.

Hey folks!
Glad to be myself again! Lots of pressure being Harv! Don't know how he does it every day.
Today, this long hair finish NOS Borsalino that I acquired from Daniele.

Whoever you all are today, have a great one!

Sent from thin air using electricity and other wizardry.
I'm in a different dimension still, there are white rabbits in my living room telling me what to post, sorry folks. I love this fuzzy wuzzy Borso. The white rabbit third from the left thinks it is a relative of his...

I hear ya. D'Aquino is still a good shop for me although admittedly I refold the creases on the hats I get from Luisa. One day I'll join you in the Gannon club. I know a lot of Loungers really like MC's work.

They have a brown Bowler on their website for less than a C-note. I'm intrigued, for the money, worth a try.

Worth a shot! My gray D'Aquino bunny homburg is currently my go-to hat. I agree with Fruno that the finish is way behind a good American custom, but at Luisa's price point, you can get some good wear out of a D'Aquino and some decent customization in the ribbon treatments and brim flanging/width.

Daniele,
I think your felt is just like that of my Borsalino!
When was yours made?
I know so little about mine.
Joe
I presume the Barbisio was made during the very early seventies when everything was bold
I found production of felts in Italy in those years had many similarities.
Borsalino, Panizza, Barbisio e Guerra 1855 made, more or less the same long hair for models from the late sixties and early seventies. They produced different hats with the same felts for different markets.

So, SO BEAUTIFUL, Daniele!! Is the fur is growing longer as the week progresses?!
Charlie this is a real problem!
Every Friday I have to bring the hats to the barber shop to shave the weekly increase of fur
I'm lucky because barber shop is outside my office twenty steps on right!

Thanks Red!
Is said bunny speaking to you in Italian? If so, he may be right. I'd say feel better, but any "better" might be dangerous. Get well. And the fourth bunny to the right is full of it. He never did half the stuff he claims.
