Today I flew off to Amsterdam, and due to technical problems it was bus instead of finger :(
Not the best of pictures though, but I hope you get an idea. This hat is actually a fur felt blocked cap (from a vintage block) with a fur felt bow trimming.

Well, it seemed like a dry morning and there wasn't any snow or anything so I changed my hat to the pecan NW Hats fedora.... just in time for it to start snowing and then sleet... so I cleaned the snow off around 2 when the office closed early for 2 whole inches of snow. And ran an errand to the bank. A little precipitation on the lid, but nothing to worry about.

Sorry for the awful pic.

Now how many lefthanders are here? Add me to the count.

Michael

Admitted left-handers (if I am not mistaken):
HatsRme
Frunobulax
FedOregon
Moe
Tommy
Michael
Daniele (maybe... wasn't absolutely certain from his post).

So... 6 or 7. Well above the (supposedly) 12% average for the population of "normal" folks who don't have the hat "problem".

Hmmm... how peculiar...

That fedora is to die for and looks amazing on you!!! Wow!! And the little blue number is gorgeous too, does kind of look like my black one doesn't it? How do you keep it in place? On hats that tend to blow away I sew loops so I can use bobby pins to keep them in place (but it helps to have my hair on a bun or ponytail so the pins can get a grip).

Nice looking hat. I'm sure anything from NW Hats will do well in the weather. If we closed for two inches of snow we'd never get anything done.

Thanks Fed, I'm going going to show HER this post tonight.
I love hats and boots! And your pics are brilliantly staged to show the hat, your pants, the boots and the truck. What could be better than that? I only have 2 pair of western boots. Some Ariat square toe, brown, cowhide boots and some black Lucchese ropers in ostrich skin (not quill) for go to meetin' boots.

I know, right? It's pandamonium here with a couple inches of snow. I used to drive all over Provo in my beater '62 Ford Falcon. Studded snow tires did the trick. Heck, one year I was shoveling snow in April!

What's that you say, 15 degrees? Windchill 3? And you want to go for a walk? Time to bring out the heavy guns.

Don't know what company made it, but it was made by good union hands.

And the other 20 lbs of wool and leather. Must be time to go play.

Michael, great (and warm) look, I don't think it would ever get cold enough in Barcelona to be able to wear that without people looking you weird on the street, but I love it!

Hey folks!
You all are superbly hatted, as always!
Cold and wet today, but not the bone chilling cold of last night...rain stopped so I'm heading out for errands.
Going with another green and fuzzy hat today, this 50's Lembert velour that is so soft and plush it must be felt to truly appreciate the quality.

Have a great day!

Sent from thin air using electricity and other wizardry.
Moehawk if that green felt feels half as luscious as it looks it must be amazing. Does it have the velour finish on both sides? I have some amazing vintage velour cones, but unfortunately they're one sided only.

Cristina, Thanks! You have posted some great hats! Have you made another Homburg?
Hi Steve, I've made two new homburgs, high crowned, trying to make something like the original homburg like "Bertie" wore. Will have to post some pictures soon.

Dermotta Wien probably mid 1950s.

Great hat again, and I will call on you if someone owes me and doesn't pay, you look really imposing! ;-)

Yeah... You are an absolutely wonderful addition here. That hat is both elegant and whimsical. Great fun!
Thanks mmbarnes, appreciate the compliment and warm welcome!

I got my green "Traveler" hat off ebay for a bit under $24. Sometimes I wear it with my hunter green Eddie Bauer jacket/parka. I figure it'll be the bomb at Oktoberfest next year.

Not the greatest pictures. The green is actually deeper than shown here, without the odd yellow/orange glare that appears on my computer screen.

That's a great looking hat. Any hint on what to search for on ebay or is there anywhere else I should be looking?

Count me in, it allows one to be different without being obvious an added bonus.
