Truer words, Harv!! I come by my gin drinking honestly, as my mom taught me to drink gin & Squirt as a young lad.

Know how to make the perfect dry martini? Place a bottle of gin next to a bottle of vermouth. Shine a flashlight through the vermouth into the gin. Pour gin into glass. Enjoy.

My friends know if I make the g&t's it a tiny bit of tonic, lotsa lemon,gin and juniper berries.

My friends in Australia introduced me to this take on a Hendricks G&T: Add two slices of cucumber to the glass before pouring. Pour. Then add a pinch of cracked black pepper. It's delicious.

Cucumbers and lemons are OK, but gin, rocks, olives. I'm a simple man. Still drink Tanqueray mostly, too. All this designer gin started to hit about the time I switched to rum.

Waiting on an oil change. Just me 'n my BGGCD.

Thanks Mr Hatto. The suit is something pre-1961 that I picked up this summer when it was too hot to wear suits. So this is it's first outing.

You're looking pretty spiffy today, too, in the herringbone jacket. Is island shirt weather over there? I packed up a very large box the other day with 34 shirts, all but a couple of which were island type. Ha ha. Made more room in the closet for sure.

Unfortunately, yes, my Alohas are going to the attic until next year. We will get a small spike to 79 later this week, but the weekend cools back to the 60s. So straw hats and Aloha shirts go away and woolens and fur felts come out.
