I give up!! Who can compete with the likes of this handsome fellow, wearing an absolutely smashing straw for the season?!! He looks so completely HAPPY! Thanks, Esty!!

Love the orange, BTW.

Thx Charlie!
I admit the kid's got swag :)
Hat Swag, that is.

I love the orange too, now on to blocking that brim. Buntal is harder to block than the other straws that I'm used to.

It might have been a sisal. Can't really remember. Sort of a golden straw with a a wide ish orange ribbon.
It was the first one I commented on after I joined the lounge if I remember correctly. It stuck with me since then.

Hatitude in spades. What a sweetie.

They will all be on parade soon and then I'll start remembering... but here are a few:

Thank you. It helps that he's been around hats since the day he was born. Most around him wear hats.

I went all the way back just to look since it's not one that you so very nicely posted.
They are all smashing but I meant this one.
Gosh I fall in love with that hat all over again. What a stunner!

That's the perfect straw hat.
Just absolutely beautiful.

I'm making one that is inspired by that one.
But the buntal is making me work for it.

3700? Jee, you're free to photograph my hats any time. :)

My favorite of your straws is still the Milan with the green polka dotted Pug. It was thew first one I commented to you on, as well, Alan, and I still love the fantastic Milan texture of it. Is that your Mom behind the Milan?

Ah yes... the Mikado. Good catch. That was a 2015 find. I have 3700 photos in my hats folder (not 3700 hats, thank goodness)... if I've forgotten how I titled the photo it can be impossible to find.

WOW ! Alan , besides being an Artist , Awesome Collector or Fine and Rare Hats , a Super Photographer , you could sell Hats Modeling Them All at The Same Time ! And your Mom looks like a Movie Star ! But your Lovely Wife does , too . You're Blessed in Many Ways . Beautiful Panamas and others . I'm in aw , I can't imagine your Collection , boy someone ought to do a History Documentary , or several . It would be So Interesting and informative , and I'm sure you could do it yourself with your talents and abilities . I really enjoy seeing your collection , and hearing about them . I'm glad Steve tells about his European Hats and Makers , especially from eastern Europe behind the iron curtain , some I'm sure , if not most .

Merry Saturday, folks.

Today I'm going with a great straw woven at some Amish family's home.

It was sold (and the trim completed) by Flying Cloud Hats in Ronks, PA. I also have a couple of Flying Cloud felts which also are distinguished by fine craftsmanship.

Just for edification, here are some photos related to Flying Cloud Hats I got from this interesting article about Anabaptist headwear. http://philippi-collection.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html?m=1
