but my original comment was actually serious ... I have very fond memories of being a child and falling asleep on the couch while my dad watched the Yankee game ... those sounds to this day are very soothing

pretty sure it was the voices of Phil Rizzuto & Frank Messer back then

I have the same nostalgic feeling about the John Madden Pat Summerall combo for the NFL ... very comforting

To be sure, I rarely sit and watch any sport on TV from beginning to end. Yesterday being the exception. I left work early and parked my tuchis in front of the TV with some nuts and beer for Opening Day. Baseball is best on the radio, anyway. It's the background soundtrack of summer. And actually being at a sporting event is quantum leaps better than TV. Although actually watching golf mystifies me.

Beach volleyball, on the other hand...

Rainy, snowy weather found me in a "Minnesota Tuxedo" (patterned wool jacket) and a vtg. Cap for morning dog walk and chores. It kept my bald pate warm and comfy.

I am out and about this afternoon sporting a Mallory 10. This hat has been getting lots of wear time of late.
