Wegener "Carrera" Biber (Beaver), late 1950s

Mayser, I'll take a picture when I'm back in my workshop. It more of a midnight blue. Insanely hard to photograph though.
And then there's this guy^^^! Steve where do you get all these gorgeous hats?
I'm always amazed at the quality and variety you have. It's a shame we haven't seen much of Manfred lately.
...and the stylistic VARIETY! It not just different permutations of the same old, same old hat. Absolutely remarkable.
Yes I have a very hard time photographing old black Velours. They absorb all light. Here are couple other black Austrian Velours.
J. Hückel´s Söhne (JHS) Zephyr Seal Velour (late 1930s) vs. TONAK Formely Hückel Zephyr Seal Velour (late 1940s). The older JHS (on the right) absorbs more light.

The researcher there is our very own Brad Bowers, and his work is top notch!
Open Road in boring Silverbelly.
