Thanks again to all the birthday well-wishers. As always, a nice parade of headwear. Today I chose my favorite conversion, a c.60's 3XB Resistol in silverbelly.

Wearing my fed iv by the pool today. It's surprising cool in the summer sun, but I've got to invest in some straws sometime soon

Michael, love the Adam. Does it have a model name? The Executive I have is a Pacesetter. Wonderful hats.

Fruno--it doesn't have a name printed anywhere on it other than the "Executive Quality" designation. I also have a Pacesetter (in need of some repairs so it isn't getting worn right now).

Thanks also to moontheloon and dh66 for comments on this one.

Everyone else--another amazing and diverse display today, guys.

David, yes, the evening light there at this time of year can be sublime. Nice hat, too!

Thang, gd. Now the sun has retuned, we are treated to a spectacular sunset just about every night.

Nice Adam, GD!

That Milan western is truly an impressive hat, DJH. I have thought several times now that you must be a source of envy, or at least awe, there, as that is above and beyond the type of straw western hat commonly seen.

Thanks, Dale. There are a ton of people wearing western straw hats around town (especially in the stockyards area), but they are nearly always Shantung straw.

I'd been looking for something that I'd like since I knew we were moving to Texas, without success. We have several good hat shops too, like Peters Bros, Best Hat and Leddy.

I was very happy when Bob Jessee told me he had a Milan hat body that would work.

This weekend we are in Philadelphia for our daughters graduation and took the train to Jersey for a late lunch at The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield. I've brought my Newt at The Royal Panama.
