My first post: I am wearing a wool felt, medium gray Dobbs porkpie, brim snapped down. Been with me since the mid-1980s. Picked in up out of the bargain bin at Syms. The store is long gone, but not the hat.

Welcome to the Lounge, Kevlar. I grew up south of Boston, and remember Syms quite well. Yes, the store is long gone - but good to hear the porkpie is still going strong.

Snow today!? OHBOY! Last year, on my late May birthday we had about 3" at my northern VT cabin location. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

WELCOME, Kevlar! Better call Sy or Marci to give them an update on that Dobbs...

Great couple shot with fedora the other day, Mr. Durand! She does improve your lot. ;)

Sam your toddler photo is just classic. WHAT a great big SMILE on that cute little face!
And the SUPERFINE, below, is just that! Are those ducks on your shirt? Wait until you see the bill...

Harv I really like the color of the CD. Great look.

Andy that may be my favorite vintage style cap... LOVE it!

David the dk. moss is a rich, beautiful color.

Richard that hat is NOT too dark. As a matter of fact, I'd say, just RIGHT!

GearGuy I'm on board with that combo of yesterday! Looking good, my friend.

There's nothing like Tilley, Ingineer!

Joao it's good to see you in the lighter colors now and again. Great one, sir!

Today, to ward off the chill and help to usher in sunny days; a VS Milan! I consider myself very lucky to have this one. Casual, yet confident?

Thank you all for your good wishes for a speedy recovery to my father. When fully cured I will try to photograph him with some of his hats.
The days in Verona are complex: in the morning and evening a felt hat is ideal, but by midday one of straw would be much more useful.
I see that many of you have begun to wear spring hats . This morning undecided by the gray morning I opted for the gray Mossant (French made), but I confess that now there is a problem of heat. View attachment 12572
Beautiful all the hats I've seen this weekend although I prefer more hats for autumn-winter (my backgound is not the right one, it is full springtime). View attachment 12573
Spring confuses me!

Despite plenty of packaging, the USPS had tried hard to convert the box to a pizza box, but the hat popped right back into shape.

Thanks, Josh - this is a really interesting hat, I've not seen another like it, that's for sure!

The hat looks great on you!! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap

I can't believe that the post office crushed another box. They are just the worst. I wrote all over the box, "DO NOT CRUSH," and made sure to put tons of bubble wrap in the box.

At least it wasn't damaged, I'm really glad about that. I have tried USPS, Fedex, and UPS....and there is always something that gets crushed. I will never understand it. The box weighed less than two pounds and I am sure that some postal worker didn't care enough to realize that if a 45 pound box is put on top of small 2 pound box...it will crush.

Thanks Josh - this is a hat I'm going to get a lot of enjoyment from.

With the shipping, it is just so unpredictable. A eBay seller recently shipped me a hat in a very delicate original Stratoliner box that was just wrapped in brown paper. If arrived just fine.

Our shipping guy was rather amused by the crushed box with "Do Not Crush" in big letters. "Can't be a very tall hat" he said!

No problem though, the hat was back in perfect shape in 10 seconds or so.

As always with your sales, perfectly described and fair price!
