Manfred, as already so eloquently stated above, thanks for sharing your vacation. The world is so much more than out locale routine. Great when you have the chance to get out in it. Italy is an amazing place.

Charlie, great posts of your getaways too. Glad to hear and see Miles looking so with it. Our dog hits her car kennel and is lights out be it a 5 mn or 8hr road trip.

Joao, I'm really liking that Randall 4X Stetson. Awesome looking Western my friend.
Thank you again :)

Joao, Amish? haha no not Amish. your friends, they just annoy you! By the way, I like that hat on you!
Even my sister tells me that I look a amish with it…
They only look for the flat wide brim, they don't notice the crown.

Great pics! My pooch needs one of those thundershirts too...

It was the best $40 I've spent on the little runt. They advertise it to be effective on approximately 80% of dogs, and even allow a 30 day trial period. We have been struggling with this since he moved in with us (Miles is a little over a year old). I bought the thing at a Bed Bath & Beyond as we were leaving town on our weekly 4 hour ride last week. Then (VERY important) read the package directions to properly introduce the shirt by "serving" treats to him on the folded up shirt. About five or six treats, and then put it on him. He stopped his stress drooling almost immediately, and within five minutes was laying down, RELAXED. It was like a miracle! Moreover, his behavior outside of the car while sporting his snappy new shirt was also amazing, a calm, obedient, mellow mutt. Worth a try, J.

They make them for cats, too, and Mrs. HatsRM is looking into one for husbands.

Three views, in sun and in shade... 2.7 ounces of vintage pleasure.

A gleaning from RLK's inventory thinning... a must make shopping stop in my opinion.

An indication of just how utterly spectacular Robert's hat collection is...

Glad it has found a great new home atop the perfect fitting noggin.

Hatsrme that little NASCAR coupe really brings memories of my own kids ( long ago in a land far away). I read some where that that particular car has the distinction of being the best selling auto of all times.

Nice Variety of Hats Today

Good afternoon Gents. I'm really liking the collection of hats.

Bowlerman, That Bowler's a real classic but I'm especially lovin' that Carlson Hombourg.

g.durand, Awesome light weight Borsolino!

alanfgag, I appreciate the compliment my friend. Thank you. But I'm really lovin' that Dobbs! That is one sharp crisp looking hat! I love the ribbon work and the color! A real touch of class!

Joao Encarnado, I definitely love the Westerns and I'm really liking that Stetson! I've already been on ebay and a couple other sites looking specifically for a Western. I saw a couple nice Resistols.

Dreary, rainy today (finally, for us), and I went with my rarely worn Champ Kasmir Blackhawk. Got a really nice compliment on this from a man at the grocery store.

You’ll have to forgive me, but as they say idle hands and all that. The other night I just decided I couldn’t take staring at my new Beaver Brand western’s too low of crown, so I took it apart, reblocked it, and made it into this. Not perfect but OK for $50. I think I’d like to get a western with a proper crown like this next year.

This afternoon I have been working yard chores and preparing for a late evening summer feast. We have a two acoustic blues muscians coming at 7:30pm to entertain on the yard when friends come for Mojakka (Finnish fish, potatoe and leek soup), summer fruit and beverages. My no-name straw hat was the trick. The tag says the cost is $1.85. Fair price!

Off to join in the Mojakka and blues music in the yard. Everybody "gots dem blues."
