Thanks Manfred, DJH, ManofKent, A'n A, and Javier for your recent comments. Apologies if I left anyone out, thanks to you, too.
Javier--yes, the Adam has the "look". It's practically new, with a nice supple sweat band and no soiling anywhere to be seen. I've enjoyed seeing your posts showing the variety of your collection lately.
HamilcarBarca3--stay cool down there. My brother told me it was 99 degrees there last Sunday. I generally don't visit my family until November.
Justin - I love the colour of that felt. With our small town cinema It'll be a while before the films reach here.
Javier - thanks for the info. on the last one. Sorry no help on the history of today's hat but it looks good - nice pugaree.
OrangeGrad - The Akubras look good on you.
Mike - Amazing ribbon.
David - Lovely Milan.
Jlee - looks good. Nice replacement ribbon.
Roger - both great looking hats.
G.D. - I love the colour of that pugaree with the straw.
---------------------
Today, first outing of a new arrival:
Woodrow - late 50's? Unlined English furry beast.
Very blowy yesterday and stuck to the cap I wore on Thursday.
Frank you almost inspired me to try my boater outdoors today. Almost, but not quite. When I stick it on my head, I always feel I should be a fishmonger or one of those Armish guys who work in Reading Terminal Market in Philly.
A guy once said to me "hey you look like your right out of the 1920's ,you know Great Gatsby and all that " !
I told him "thanks I take that as a complement " .
Enjoy your day DJH and All the Best ,Fashion Frank
bowlerman--that is the natural patina on the Dobbs. The thing must be at least fifty years old. The straw is still fairly pliable but the sweatband is fragile, so I handle it with care.
ManofKent--thank you for your comment. I must say the Woodrow is a fine looking lid, and it works well with your overall wardrobe today.
Frank--the boater is perfect with the tie, the braces and Old Glory in the background. Your commenter was right, you could have stepped right out of the 1920s (or earlier).
Frank, Job & g.Durand: great lids on this day, no fedora for me just a ball cap while doing hard work... I was getting dirty while the gatsby crowd was out
