Akubra today.

This is the version of the Campdraft called the Bushman, sold by David Morgan. It's a nice color. I'm a little embarrassed to display it on this thread, because gtdean takes such excellent care of his Akubras, and, as you can see, I am less careful with mine.

My original idea for this hat was to make it a porkpie, something like Robert Oppenheimer's hat. That never looked right -- seems to work better with a blunt pinch.

Anyway, I wear this hat frequently. Lately I have been wearing it during the day to keep the sun out of my face, and then at night I wear a bowler.

Thanks for the kind compliments, guys. Today I received a new hat, it's a selentino columbo hat. Modern hat but not bad. The felt is a bit stiff but other than that I like it. It has a wider brim than I'm comfortable with but I'm willing to try anything new.

HB3 - that hat, along with the more casual look works really well for you.

How do you like wearing felt hats in the warm weather? I suspect if I was in your area, I'd be wearing straw hats for most of the year :)

Sadly the only straw hats I own are a cheap straw hat and one that looks too out there for wear. I sport felt hats only about Sundays now and when it rains, maybe soon I can get a hold of a nice straw hat for everyday use.

Wore the Lee Corral today... The new-to-me Adam Executive...

Great hats, GD. I like the flat brim on the Lee and the brown felt on the Executive. Very similar to my homburg; I bet the felt is just as delicious! :thumb:

What's that shirt you have on, David??

You definitely know how to shape 'em, Perry. Super hat. Super swoop. Do you ever take pics outside?

Lovely Panama, Robert.

AnA, very sharp hat that Falcon Park, I like the classic line!

Thanks, Manfred. And that's a sweet Borsalino Qualita Speciale!! Terrific color. Nice to see you're having warmer weather over there. :)

Now THAT is a pleasant start to the summer. Nice TAR. Thanks, Tom!

VS Carlota

Those shark gills could cut someone, case! Shaaaaaaarp hat!!

AnA - Nice colour to that Falcon and the wide ribbon looks great.

Many thanks, MoK! The lighting was great in the hall I was in; the granite felt really showed off the deeper shades. Parker helped me choose a vintage 2" ribbon. And I must say, you are a man of superb coordination. I absolutely love that blue tie you have on. Good show! :yo:

Resistol "Genuine Panama" - 1960's? Sweat was replaced.

Lovely lovely lovely.

Akubra today.

That's one cool hat, Denton. I love the color. How wide is the brim? I can see why you wear to shade you from the sun.

Penny's Panama for this day.

Looks very breezy. :)

I think you chose a fine hat, HB3. It looks great on you! The shape of the crown really compliments your face shape. Well done, sir.

Denton - that Akubra looks nice, centre dent works well.
Javier - Interesting weave (I assume it's part of the weave and not perforations?). Nice shape.
HB3 - I've not seen a Selentino in the flesh, but it looks good on you. Brim width works well.
AnA -Thanks. I must try the hat with a burgundy tie for the top stripe :D

Thanks AnA! The brim is a bit wider than 3 inches, roughly 3 1/8. The brim curl on my hat is asymmetrical -- it curls higher on the right than the left, because of the way I hold it when I'm not wearing it. (Also, I must have forgotten to reverse the image on photobucket, so the left-hand side appears as the right-hand side.)

I am sorry for the lack of compliments in this post. I just returned from the drive-in movies (This is the End and World War Z). Everyone looks great, and I mean everyone!

Today (well yesterday), I wore the 1930's Mallory

It's a Shantung Panama, not really sure if it was paper weaved that way of perforated post production & manufacturing.

AnA, a while ago I started a little digital marketing business - Fedora Web Marketing and I got some shirts embroidered with the logo.

I have several tee shirts in different colours and a couple of polos as well.

As it happens, with a lot of other projects going on, I've not had much chance to develop the business, but the shirts are cool!

Gotta love not being on the lounge for a good year or two, only to come back to see gtdean48 still posting about his beloved Akubras. I like how some things never change! That, along with all of the amazing hats from old and new members alike. I wish I would have worn a hat to work today!

GREAT Adams JAVIER.

Looks like plenty of shade under your Akubra Andy.

Nice enough today for my Wormser "Regal Quality" milan.
