Today, I was going to wear the boater again, but I feared the wind may take it for a ride, so I swapped it for the 30s Stetson Special.

Thanks Justin. Mullen and Bluett opened for business in 1883. This hat likely sold during the first two decades of the 20th century - closer than that would only be a guess.

My Bradford LTD. "Super" Open Road Style fedora...I love this hat...It's my favorite. My Stetsons don't even compare to it. Unfortunately, the 7 1/8 hat size is too snug for my 7 1/8 Long Oval head...and there's no hatter in my area where I can have it resized...

Thanks alan...the sweat band is in excellent condition...Like new, soft and supple...after it's stretched to fit me, will the hat stay that way, or will it have to be re-stretched every so often?

It will probably need a bit of a stretch every so often. A hat jack/hat retainer wouldn't be a bad investment. If you get it reblocked to a lng oval, that should be a more permanent solution.
