Very nice GQ. With the temperature close to zero F here, I'm rather wishing for milan days.

Anyway, my Cavanagh was keeping me warm and styling this morning.

Thanks Mystic, Chepstow, Jeff (nice bowler, I need to find a decent bowler in my size one of these days), Mayerswegener (I wish I could find more) and David.

Tom, I'm looking forward to seeing more photos of the wanderer.

At work with my caribou Stetson Sovereign. This one has a 2 3/4 inch brim. My favorite hat but I hardly wear it. I tend to want to spare it from wear and tear.

Al, thanks for this tour de Minneapoules. lol I adore that homburg-- is it actual nutria felt, or nutria colored? Of course it is always a pleasure to view that beaver belly.

What a gold mine of robes and/or smoking jackets. Right up my alley! I will have to check the place out sometime. I don't know much about architecture, but those relics sure look attractive.

Now my wife is going to be upset with me after I absolutely have to mimic your meal of Unagi, Maguro, and... I forget the name for Yellowtail, but there will be no stopping me now! Yum! --oops, that's salmon in the middle, isn't it?

Al; Thanks for regaling us with your adventures.

I am so pleased for you that you have made good use of your sons study for college entrance exams. It appears to have afforded you the opportunity to frequent violin, sushi/sashimi, antique and other interesting ventures. Cheers for entrance exams!! Seriousely, Al, thanks for presenting our backyard in such a comlimentary light.

Your hatted adventures are pleasurable to view. Nice lids-all of them!

Resolving to get out and about more in our fair state, Eric -

Another great set of hats so far today all! Big e I have the same problem with my favorite hats. I tend to baby them but they just don't develop the character that I want that way. Hmmm

I went with a 50s Dobbs I won off of ebay earlier in the year today.

Glad you fellas enjoyed the photos, and thank you as always for your enthusiasm and kind comments!

Perry: Life is too short not to indulge...;)

Jeff: The Borsalino Homburg is indeed their Nutria felt. Dense, strong but malleable felt that wears well. Good stuff.

I love the older lounging robes and smoking jackets from the late '20s through the '40s, that Golden Age of Hollywood glamour and the very acme of refined elegance and style. It is little wonder that most of us here treasure our lids from that same era. These days, sadly, it is quite unusual to stumble upon a cache of these old lounging robes at any antiques shop or antiques show. Let me know the next time you are over this way and we will take you to some of our favorite haunts.

Yellowtail is Hamachi, my favorite sashimi fish, and your eyes did not deceive you, that is indeed salmon in the middle.

Alan: The Borsalino 'Nutria' Homburg has only made one other appearance here at the lounge since arriving here last Autumn from Napoli, via a detour to Modena! I have yet to take the detailed photos to do it proper justice. :eusa_doh:

Manfred: Looks like we have nearly the entire Fedora Lounge Homburg cheering section weighing in here! I love this 'Nutria' Homburg, and it is one of my favorite Borsalinos. We always have an enjoyable time at antiques shops, antiques shows and flea markets. More fun than trolling the internet, we find, and while the odds of finding the perfect hat in the perfect size are improbably low, there are many other wonderful and beautiful things just waiting to be discovered...like those lounging robes! ;)

Eric: Looking forward to our crossing paths in the near future! We will likely spot one another by our hats first, methinks. ;)
