+1 on all counts
As for the white stains, it's actually dirt. I've subjected this hat to quite a bit and while there was initially some Fuller's Earth involved, most of it is actual earth from my own family trips (plus some minor sweat stains). Last summer, we went out west and although it was the hottest two weeks of the year, my Fed IV was a daily wear. From chasing coyotes in Indiana, to chasing my kids along the beach in Chicago, it saw quite a bit of action. The year before, it made it through West Virginia and managed to pick up quite a bit of character then, too. In honor of the adventures of Dr Jones, I decided to keep it dirty. This is my only hat that receives this lack of treatment...

Looks great on you. There's something special about a Stetson Saxon -- somehow it wears bigger than a 2" brim spec would lead one to think.

Today's topper took two tries (try to toot that tongue twister tree times!)

First, Panizza "Fanatasia" in zinc...

... then switched to Borsalino Ludoela in curdo.

Manfred, thank you for the good wishes on yesterday's new/old Otto Matt.

Today I'm wearing my late 40's/early 50's Stephen L. Stetson. This one came to me with the brim already cut to 2 1/8. It needed a re-flange badly. I just got done sanding my flanges this past weekend, so I gave this a new flange last night with a 901 2 1/8 flange. I like the 901 because its a bit higher of a flange which looks nice when wearing as an upbrim. The crown wasn't really tall enough for a center dent. I had a center dent, but it was way too shallow. Instead, I re-creased the crown using an arrowhead/Christmas tree crease.

WOW !! Looks like a line-up for a catalog of fine vintage hats today.

Steve, Love the color combo on the Mayser.

Another record temp day here...82 degrees. Five straight days of 80 and over temps.

I went 'All In' with a Charles Knox stingy Coconut and Sta-Dri Nike.
