Yeah! I had to take it apart so, after I made the leather a 1/8, I could reblock the body to the new size. Once I made the bow and sew the liner and sweat back, I re-flanged the brim as well. I did the same thing to one of the Borsalinos I recently bought in Roma. The lupo one, also a 6 7/8.

That is too cool. So you removed the sweatband completely to stretch it? Can the reverse be done to make a hat a size smaller? I can't seem to afford hats my own size anymore!:eusa_booh lol

You can remove it, cut it and then sew the ends back anew or tape them like they use to do it back in the day. Shrinking the felt body though... I guess you could use water and steam but I'm speculating here. I don't know if this would work.

A little noir I guess:

That's the Optimo. I wore it today and had to go to the bank. Perhaps it's silly, but I always feel a bit ironic going into the bank with the "Dillinger" hat. Anyways, the teller said I looked like Johnny Depp....from his appearance in Chocolat. Must've been the facial hair because I don't think he had a hat in that movie!

You might be joking there, Mike but I thought the same thing! lol I swear!
That's funny. Um...that's an embarrassing spelling error I made there. Let's just call it a typo - yeh that's what it was.
More great hats, guys. I actually walked out of the house without mine today. That doesn't happen very often anymore.

I didn't notice the typo until you pointed it out. Point is that I thought, Old testament? what does it have to do with hat servicing? lol

I'm gonna see how far I can get during "Stetson week" David! I have a late start... but I might be able to at least finish the work week. Your hats have been great so far.

Manfred-- I agree that the German strat is a beautiful hat!

Royal Deluxe OR, that for some reason hardly ever sees any head action:

Yes it can be done. You just have to pull it over the block more, and you end up with a wider brim. You can't shrink the body too much.

Manfred: Your Rehfus Hutfabrik Strat clone is fabulous. Have you posted additional photos of it elsewhere? The Qualita Speciale is very nice as well.

David: Beatiful Whippet in unusual colors.

Jeff: It is a bit perplexing that such a great looking lid could be the victim of the Neglected Hat Syndrome. [huh] lol
