Nice Vagabond Robert.
I need to pull mine out of the box and give it a wear.
I have hats enough that I need to wear more than the thin ribbons every so often.
Thanks. You should be able to ease into the "wider" ribbon without too much shock.;)

Well, I've never posted in this thread before but it was such a beautiful day today I thought I'd use my cell to snap a shot of today's hat...my Bates Burlington model. That little touch of red on the side is my Remembrance Day poppy. So...here's my first post on this thread! No way I can compete with all the spectacular hats that guys wear here, but I figure I could post once in a while.

Looks great on you DNO, does anyone know of a US retailer of Bates hats?, a quick 'googling'' just shows UK sites.

I don't know of any store on this side of the pond that sells Bates. I was lucky enough to find this pristine Burlington model at a local thrift store for an embarrassingly low price. Beautiful quality hat but some loungers may find the crown a tad low.

Today is the first official comfort test of my new boater.

It's 32 degrees centigrade outside (or it will be. It's already 20 degrees and the mercury is flying), and I'm heading off to the flea-market to do some browsing.

Time to find out if a hat-design 130 years old still holds up to the summer sun.
