Mike: Wonderful family portrait. That straw looks cool and airy.

djd: The AB Raiders looks great on you, especially in the field. Nice boots, too.

I must admit that when I saw your handle, and your reference to your knees, the first thing to come to mind was Degenerative Joint Disease! lol

Thanks for your kind words, egghead, robstc, and alanfgag. This one has been part of my regular rotation for a couple years now. It comes out more in the summer.

Thanks neophyte and steveac. I agree with you. The proportions are great. And the felt is very thin and compact.

When I headed out to the gym early this morning I packed my new Whippet "straw." Anticipation high. The weather predictions were for 80's here in MN. Morning sun and afternoon, evening showers. I hoped to get some break in time for the Whippet. I padded the brim with some craft foam that my wife picked up yesterday.

Early morning workouts (my coaching duties) complete, showered and changed ready to head out for some errands and a meeting. With my new Whippet firmly on my head, I am proudly off.

Ahh, the sun, bring it on!

Thanks for looking at my new dome cover, Eric -

Yes- we think he's a lab-Rotweiller mix. He has dominance issues amongst other things. He came from the pound. He's a good guard dog but a bit of a nightmare out of the house!

Thank you for the compliment though :)

Having some traditional south american (colombian bandeja paisa) lunch wearing my late dad's 1979 Montecristi: fine and tightly woven people can't believe it's straw.
